IDENTITY THIEF Review

The most remarkable thing about Identity Thief is how a movie this dumb could keep insulting its audience’s intelligence.  Aside from being a comedy with no laughs, screenwriter Craig Mazin rests almost his entire plot on coincidences, and one-dimensional characters.  The comic talents of stars Jason Bateman and Melissa McCarthy are absolutely wasted on a limp road movie that gets lazier and more tiresome with every passing moment.  The best joke the film can conjure is a punch to the throat, which would almost be preferable to sitting through this chore of a picture.

Tip “T.I.” Harris Talks BOSS Season 2, IDENTITY THIEF, and His Next Album TROUBLE MAN

On Season 2 of the Starz original series Boss, Tip “T.I.” Harris plays Trey Rogers, a former gangbanger with designs on a career in City Hall. He is the cousin that Darius (Rotimi) turns to when struggling with his love for Emma (Hannah Ware), Mayor Tom Kane’s (Kelsey Grammer) daughter, and he is the conduit between a local Alderman and the gang that is powerful enough to function as a grassroots organization in the projects.

During this recent exclusive interview with Collider, rapper T.I. talked about the opportunity to be a part of this acclaimed show, how his character will fit into the story, being able to understand who Trey Rogers is, working with Rotimi who also aspires to get into music, what it was like to do a scene with Kelsey Grammer, and how different acting has been from what he expected. He also talked about working in TV versus film, breaking the stereotypes of his rapper persona, having just done his first comedy (Identity Thief with Melissa McCarthy and Jason Bateman), becoming an entrepreneur, and his eighth album, Trouble Man, which he hopes to release by the end of the year. Check out what he had to say after the jump.

“Takers” is a film that was completely off of my radar until just now. I think I only glanced at the film’s title while doing some research through the “always reliable” IMDB and I’ve since completely forgotten about it until right now. Anyway, I don’t know if you guys are anticipating it or not, but the film now has a trailer. If you haven’t heard of it, it’s about a group of bank robbers and it stars Idris Elba, Paul Walker, Matt Dillon, Chris Brown, Jay Hernandez, T.I. , and Hayden Christensen.
