Universal Pictures has released a final trailer for Fast Five director Justin Lin’s sequel Fast & Furious 6, and it’s chock-full of summer blockbuster goodness. This trailer does a great job of showing off the film’s ginormous scale, as we get some extended looks at Lin’s many action sequences. Car chases through the streets of Europe, brutal fistfights in which The Rock pulls some legit wrestling moves, and a car chase/fight sequence involving a tank are all things we can look forward to with Fast & Furious 6. Producer Neal Moritz recently told us that the film features two or three of “the best action sequences you will ever see” and noted that Fast 6 is the best film of the series yet. We’ll get a chance to judge for ourselves in a few short weeks, but this trailer definitely makes the film look like one hell of a ride.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer. The film stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Dwayne Johnson, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson, Joe Taslim, Sung Kang, Gina Carano, and Luke Evans. Fast & Furious 6 opens on May 24th.

A new theatrical trailer for Fast & Furious 6 has been released online. Though the supervillain for Fast & Furious 7 may have already been spoiled, we still have director Justin Lin’s eminent sequel to look forward to in the immediate future. The film moves the action of the franchise across the pond to Europe, where Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) is trying to stop a group of mercenary drivers led by an unnamed mastermind (Luke Evans) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). Hobbs recruits Dom (Vin Diesel) and his crew to help bring down the criminal outfit, and in exchange will provide pardons for the Rio heist. This trailer is essentially a shorter, edited version of the first full trailer, but it’s still a fun watch if only for the reminder that we’ll be seeing a car explode out the front of a plane in the film.

The full trailer for Fast & Furious 6 has gone online. It looks like this movie has everything fans could want and more. I’m curious what the runtime on this flick will be considering you have the whole team trying to get pardons, fighting a rival carjacking crew (a clever idea for a new foe), and the return of Dom’s love, Letty. But more than anything, it looks like director Justin Lin has pulled out all the stops to make the sixth installment the biggest and best one yet. Take it from someone who hasn’t been a big fan of the series thus far: this trailer left a big smile on my face.

Over the past few months, we’ve heard a number of different titles (Fast Six, Furious 6) for the 6th installment in the Fast and Furious franchise. But thanks to the studio releasing the first poster, we know it’s officially called Fast and Furious 6. While I understand the logic in that title, I think Furious 6 sounds a lot cooler.
As we learned the other day when we posted the synopsis, the new film has Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) trying to stop a group of mercenary drivers led by an unnamed mastermind (Luke Evans) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). Hobbs recruits Dom (Vin Diesel) and his crew to help bring down the criminal outfit, and in exchange will provide pardons for the Rio heist. The film also stars Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Elsa Pataky, and Gina Carano. We’re still not 100% sure if the new Fast & Furious movie is entitled “Fast & Furious 6” (it could be “Fast Six“, “Furious Six“, or maybe even my personal prediction, Fast Cars Go Boom Now), but no matter what it ends up being called, we now have the first synopsis. The new film has Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) trying to stop a group of mercenary drivers led by an unnamed mastermind (Luke Evans) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). Production is still underway in London on director Justin Lin’s Fast and Furious 6, and though we’ve seen plenty of images and video from the set already, star Tyrese Gibson has decided to share a bit more with fans. The actor has been keeping tabs on the production via his Twitter account, and today we’ve got an image of Tyrese, Ludacris, and Mr. Dwayne Johnson on a vehicle preparing to head out into what I can only assume is some intense action.
He also shared a video from the set (for some reason shot vertically on his phone), and you can check both out after the jump. The film also stars Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Michelle Rodriguez, Joe Taslim, and Luke Evans. Fast and Furious 6 opens May 24, 2013.

Shortly before Transformers: Dark of the Moon was released, I got the chance to speak with Tyrese Gibson on the phone. Since I hadn’t yet seen the film, I couldn’t ask specific questions about the plot or his character. However, since I was able to visit the editing room earlier this year, where I also saw about 15 minutes of the film before its release, I knew enough about the story and the insane Chicago action sequence that we had plenty to discuss. In addition, Gibson talked about Fast Five and Fast Six, filming Transformers in 3D, if he has the desire to direct, how he ended up writing a bestselling book (How to Get Out of Your Own Way), his new album Open Invitation, Twitter, and a lot more. Hit the jump for the audio and transcript.
