New Set Photos from Terrence Malick’s Untitled Film Feature Natalie Portman and the Lizardman; Tom Hooper’s LES MISERABLES Releases a New Set Photo

New set photos have come out from director Terrence Malick’s Untitled Film that feature more looks at star Natalie Portman and famed professional freak, Erik “The Lizardman” Sprague.  Not sure what Lizardman is doing there, but Portman is starring in a film ”set against the music scene of Austin, and tells the story of two intersecting love triangles and the obsession and betrayal that follows.”  And, as is the case in Malick’s films, any or all of these characters and scenes might be cut from the finished film at the drop of a cowboy hat.  As an added bonus, we have a set photo from director Tom Hooper’s musical feature, Les Miserables, that shows how a modern British landmark was turned into 19th century French setpiece.  Hit the jump to check them out.

Images of Ryan Gosling and Rooney Mara on the Set of Terrence Malick’s Untitled Austin-set Music Drama

Though Terrence Malick’s romantic drama To the Wonder recently premiered at the Venice and Toronto Film Festivals to a rather muted response, the recently prolific director is moving on with the second of two films that he’s shooting this year.  He appears to have wrapped the Christian Bale-fronted Knight of Cups, as new set photos reveal that production has started on his other untitled feature (previously titled Lawless) set against the backdrop of the Austin music scene.  We saw some images of Malick filming Ryan Gosling and Rooney Mara last year for what was actually pre-production work on the pic, and now some new images of the actors have surfaced that signal the beginning of principal photography.

The story about “sexual obsession and betrayal” involves two intersecting love triangles, but that’s about all we know at the moment.  Malick will be editing the untitled film and Knight of Cups simultaneously, but it will likely be a couple years before we see the finished films.  For now, hit the jump to take a look at Gosling, Mara, and Mr. Malick himself at work in Austin.
