Yesterday we got a good look at Chris Hemsworth and Jaimie Alexander going to battle on the Surrey set of Thor: The Dark World, and today some more images and video of said battle has surfaced online. We get a look at some of the other creatures from the action sequence, and we also get to see some fighting in motion courtesy of the set video. There are a few flashes of light as the action takes place, so we can safely assume that means Thor isn’t too far away.

The film also stars Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Ray Stevenson, Tadanobu Asano, Zachary Levi, Idris Elba, Alice Krige, Kat Dennings, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Anthony Hopkins, Jaime Alexander, Rene Russo, and Christopher Eccleston. Thor: The Dark World opens on November 8th, 2013.
Sony Pictures held a press conference today to announce details on the 23rd James Bond film. First up, Sony confirmed the title would be Skyfall, which sounds a bit sci-fi, but is a billion times better than “Quantum of Solace“. As for the title’s meaning, producer Barbara Broccoli says, “It has emotional context which will be revealed in the film.” The press conference was also attended by director Sam Mendes, co-producer Michael G. Wilson, and cast members Daniel Craig, Javier Bardem, Judi Dench, Bérénice Marlohe, and Naomie Harris.
The official James Bond twitter, @007, tweeted the logline: “Bond’s loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.” Hit the jump for more juicy details on 007′s next adventure. The film also stars Ralph Fiennes, Albert Finney, and Ben Whishaw. Skyfall is due out November 9, 2012. As Michel Gondry’s The Green Hornet approaches, Sony wants you to know that the character has got a sweet ride. The “Black Beauty” was featured prominently on the teaser poster for the film and at Comic-Con this year I got to take a close look at the many cars of the film, including the Beauty. A reel showing off the vehicle’s specs and scenes in the movie has now landed online. It’s clear that they’re trying to make the Black Beauty look like the Batmobile for a new generation. I think that cuts to a larger truth that if you’re a guilt-ridden billionaire playboy who’s looking to fight crime, you’re going to pimp your ride with a healthy dose of firepower.
Hit the jump to check out the clip as well as some photos I took of the Black Beauty at Comic-Con. The Green Hornet stars Seth Rogen, Jay Chou, Cameron Diaz, and Christoph Waltz. It’s slated to open in 3D on January 14, 2011.
As you may have seen by the abundance of coverage (video of the press conference featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Steven Spielberg, tons of images of the new backlot, interview with Jeff Zucker), I attended the opening of the new Universal Studios New York backlot yesterday. In attendance were tons of VIP’s as well as media from around the world. While I thought I was done posting coverage, I was provided a short 4 minute video that I thought you’d all enjoy.
The video features Universal President Ron Meyer narrating why the backlot is so important to Universal and how films like Back to the Future and Blues Brothers were filmed in the area that burned down. Shortly after, Steven Spielberg talks about how he got involved in the rebuilding and he explains how when he heard about the fire, he immediately rushed down to the studio. Of course the video has a positive ending as the studio just spent a lot of money making the New York backlot even better and the video features Jon Turteltaub and Brian Grazer explaining how impressed they were.
