Fast & Furious 6 is still a week away, it will probably be a monster hit. Universal has already scheduled Fast & Furious 7 for July 11, 2014, and tapped James Wan (Insidious) to direct. The series has branched out from its L.A. roots since the third film, The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, and according to Vin Diesel, Fast 7 will be heading to some exotic locales.

Universal Pictures has released a new trailer, images, and a debut poster for writer/director David Twohy’s Riddick. The Chronicles of Riddick follow-up finds the titular character, played by Vin Diesel, left for dead on a deserted planet filled with predators both alien and human, as bounty hunters once again are out for Riddick’s head. Clocking in at two and a half minutes long, this trailer shows off much more footage than the first teaser, but there’s not much revealed by way of plot. In fact, it really looks as though one could comfortably watch Riddick without having seen the first two films in the series and be completely onboard. With Karl Urban returning, though, one imagines there’s at least a small throughline that connects Riddick with Chronicles. Though some of the effects are a bit spotty, if you’re a fan of the character and/or the first two films, this trailer promises that Riddick is likely right up your alley.
Hit the jump to check out the trailer, poster, and images. The film also stars Katee Sackhoff, David Bautista, Jordi Mollà, Matt Nable, Bokeem Woodbine, Raoul Trujillo, and Nolan Gerard Funk. Riddick opens in traditional theaters and IMAX on September 6th.

Universal Pictures has released a final trailer for Fast Five director Justin Lin’s sequel Fast & Furious 6, and it’s chock-full of summer blockbuster goodness. This trailer does a great job of showing off the film’s ginormous scale, as we get some extended looks at Lin’s many action sequences. Car chases through the streets of Europe, brutal fistfights in which The Rock pulls some legit wrestling moves, and a car chase/fight sequence involving a tank are all things we can look forward to with Fast & Furious 6. Producer Neal Moritz recently told us that the film features two or three of “the best action sequences you will ever see” and noted that Fast 6 is the best film of the series yet. We’ll get a chance to judge for ourselves in a few short weeks, but this trailer definitely makes the film look like one hell of a ride.

We already knew that Universal was wasting no time in moving forward on Fast & Furious 7, and today at the studio’s CinemaCon presentation, Vin Diesel announced that the next installment is due out on July 11, 2014. No details are known other than filming begins this summer, Diesel will return alongside Paul Walker, and James Wan (Insidious) is set to direct.
While I assume Universal would try to round up cast members other than Diesel and Walker, the involvement of Dwayne Johnson is a bit up in the air. In a recent interview with Steve, Johnson seemed doubtful that production would begin so soon, but if Universal wants to hit that July 2014 release date, filming has to begin ASAP. Johnson could be a little out of the loop on this, so either his character won’t be in the seventh installment, or it will be a minor role since filming on Fast & Furious 7 will conflict his shooting schedule on Brett Ratner’s Hercules.

When The Fast and the Furious was first released over a decade ago, it was hard to imagine that a movie about street racing would spawn a successful franchise that’s still going strong six films in. And yet, 2011’s Fast Five proved that the series still has plenty of juice left, with director Justin Lin crafting one of the most entertaining movies of the year that packed in just about every single castmember from the entire Fast & Furious franchise.
The action moves across the pond to Europe with this May’s Fast & Furious 6, also directed by Lin, and it appears that the inevitable seventh installment of the franchise might be coming much sooner than expected as star Vin Diesel recently suggested that filming on Fast & Furious 7 begins this summer. Hit the jump for more.

The first trailer for Riddick is now online. It’s been a long wait for such a short teaser, but it’s got everything you crave in a Riddick movie: Vin Diesel, fearsome creatures, eyeshine in the dark and stone-cold one-liners from the titular anti-hero. There’s not much in the way of plot (or co-stars) revealed here, but the tone is spot on.
Also starring Karl Urban, Katee Sackhoff and Dave Bautista, writer/director David Twohy’s Riddick opens September 6th. Hit the jump to watch the first trailer.

Tonight’s the night for high-adrenaline TV spots. We just posted a new glimpse at footage from Iron Man 3 and now a new action-packed teaser for Justin Lin’s Fast & Furious 6 is now available. There are so many military vehicles and a jacked up Dwayne Johnson that I thought this was G.I. Joe: Retaliation for a second, but the presence of Vin Diesel (and a massive tank) set me back on course.
Also starring Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, Tyrese Gibson, Sung Kang, Gal Gadot, Chris Bridges, Elsa Pataky, Michelle Rodriguez and Gina Carano, Fast & Furious 6 opens May 24th. Hit the jump to watch the new TV spot.

Ever rewarding his fans, Vin Diesel (The Fast and the Furious) has debuted yet another image from his upcoming film Riddick. It looks like Riddick may thrown in his lot for the rule of Westeros, because that seat looks every bit as uncomfortable as the Iron Throne. The third installment from director David Twohy features the return of the titular anti-hero, who must fight for his survival against deadly alien predators and bounty hunters with a personal stake in bringing him down. Riddick, also starring Karl Urban, debuts on September 6th. Hit the jump to check out the full image, along with what Diesel had to say about it.

A new theatrical trailer for Fast & Furious 6 has been released online. Though the supervillain for Fast & Furious 7 may have already been spoiled, we still have director Justin Lin’s eminent sequel to look forward to in the immediate future. The film moves the action of the franchise across the pond to Europe, where Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) is trying to stop a group of mercenary drivers led by an unnamed mastermind (Luke Evans) and Letty (Michelle Rodriguez). Hobbs recruits Dom (Vin Diesel) and his crew to help bring down the criminal outfit, and in exchange will provide pardons for the Rio heist. This trailer is essentially a shorter, edited version of the first full trailer, but it’s still a fun watch if only for the reminder that we’ll be seeing a car explode out the front of a plane in the film.
