With director Olivier Megaton‘s Taken 2 opening October 5, 20th Century Fox has provided us with four clips. In the sequel, Liam Neeson’s character unwisely takes his family on a European vacation, only to find himself and his wife (Famke Janssen) taken hostage by the family members of the henchmen that Neeson brutally murdered in the first film. The film also stars Maggie Grace and Rade Serbedzija.
As a big fan of the first film, I’m looking forward to Neeson kicking some more ass in the sequel. Hit the jump to watch the clips.

In the UK this is being cut to obtain a 12A rating. This will be something like PG-13 in the US, therefore i wont be going to see it. Hopefully the Blu will be uncut.
It doesn’t need to be rated R (or whatever the UK equivalent is) in order to be good. I’m excited for Neeson to be a BA again – I don’t need to see blood spurting everywhere for that. Casino Royale, for example, was PG-13 and I didn’t have a problem with the action in that. The first Taken was PG-13 anyway.
The original was a 15 in the UK and an 18 when it reached Blu-Ray. My point was that it’s being cut in the UK only, the rest of the world gets it untouched. Whether it’s blood, gunshots, fights, swearing being removed, I don’t know. All I know is that I’m getting a reduced experience to allow teens into the cinema. Therefore I’m not paying.
I suspect your PG-13 rating allows for a wider breadth of content than the 12A and 15 ratings we have.
I did not yet see this movie but I know this a very good movie…..
