The first international trailer for Taken 2 has gone online.  As the new trailer shows, Bryan Mills (Liam Neeson) didn’t really think through the whole “going on a murderous rampage to save my daughter,”-thing and now the bad guys’ families want revenge.  This time around, it’s Mills’ wife (Famke Janssen) who gets taken, so this gives license for Liam Neeson to play the badass yet again.  I have absolutely no problem with that.  I’m assuming the franchise can continue if future kidnapping victims include Mills’ cousin, gardener, paperboy, the guy he met at the supermarket that one time, and so forth.  Finally, Taken 2 looks to continue the series’ message that foreign countries are the worst places affluent white people can go.  Just visit Orlando, Florida.  They have Disneyworld.

Hit the jump to check out the trailer.  The film also stars Maggie Grace and Rade SerbedzijaTaken 2 opens October 5th. [Update: We've added the international poster.]

  1. Oh YES!!

Music looks like is of INCEPTION; BHAM BHAM!!
    & scale looks really impressive… mini-BOND!
    Looks better than Boure Leagacy!!

This Line summarises it: “What are u, gona do?…. What i do BEST”!!
Yes… Give me this.. I laughed my ass off in this; looks so fun!!
Can’t wait for Neeson being WHAT HE DOES BEST!!

  2. Taken 2: They take from Taken, Taken takes it back but Taken takes too much. They then take Takens wife. That takes Taken too far..

  3. Love it. Move over Norris, Stallone, Van Damme, et al. Neeson is the new official Hollywood BA.

Now that he’s beaten the crap out of some wolves in “The Grey,” he’s ready to show some more humans what’s up. Will see it for sure.

  4. This looks just as good as the first one and I loved the first one. I swear, though, does he hang out with David Webb (aka Jason Bourne) and Frank Castle?

  5. I can see it now:

Taken 3, the one where Liam Neeson gets taken and his daughter has to save him after she learns how to be a badass in this film.

  6. Not usually a big fan of Goldberg’s comedic attempts, but the comment about “the guy he met at the supermarket that one time” had me cracking up. Nice job Matty boy!

  7. Actually Matt, I’d argue that Disney Land/World is a far more dangerous place for people. they employ persons who willingly dress up like giant cartoon characters, who then stand around in 100 degree heat and terrorize small children. That is a kind of crazy no one should be exposed to, let alone pay big bucks to experience.

  8. The first installment is, in my opinion, grossly overrated. Taken was moderately enjoyable, but forgettable in almost every manner save for Liam Neeson.

    • agreed, loved it when I saw it in theaters, and when I bought the Blu-ray it just didnt hold up to repeated viewings

  9. Honestly, who cares what kind of convoluted plot they put together if it means watching Liam Neeson destroy everybody in front of him for an hour and a half?

  10. Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter is opening Friday, Taken 2 is coming out later this year, Die Hard 5 is coming out early next year, and yet FOX won’t greenlight a 24 movie and lowballed on the movie budget because they think it’s too risky. Seriously? Who’s running things over there?
