20th Century Fox just released a new Taken 3 clip from Olivier Megaton's action sequel starring Liam Neeson as Bryan Mills, an ex-CIA operative and all-around badass whose family has really had a rough time these last few years.  By now we know all about Mills' "particular set of skills," but it seems Franck Dotzler (Forest Whitaker) doesn't quite know what he's up against yet.  Hit the jump to check out the clip and to take a look at the new poster.  The film opens in theaters on January 9, 2015.

Taken 2 was a mess, but the first trailer for Taken 3 showed a lot of promise.  I like the idea that Mills' horrifically violent actions have consequences.  I like that they're raising the stakes by killing off Lenore (Famke Janssen) right off the bat.  I love that they're shaking up the formula and not actually having someone get taken.  There's not a lot to be gleaned from this new clip, but I am genuinely excited about this new poster because it bills the film as Taken 3, not the abhorrent Tak3n they were floating around earlier this year.

Here's the official synopsis for Taken 3:

Liam Neeson returns as ex-covert operative Bryan Mills, whose reconciliation with his ex-wife is tragically cut short when she is brutally murdered.  Consumed with rage, and framed for the crime, he goes on the run to evade the relentless pursuit of the CIA, FBI and the police. For one last time, Mills must use his “particular set of skills,” to track down the real killers, exact his unique brand of justice, and protect the only thing that matters to him now – his daughter.
