Last week, I had the chance to see Disney’s 50th animated feature film, Tangled, in an unfinished state, and walked away impressed. You will see my set visit report in the next few days and a ton of interviews, but for now, there is a new trailer and images that have been released by Disney. The focus here is clearly on Flynn Rider’s character, as he narrates the entire thing. Showcased are some great action sequences and some of the great dialog, so join me after the jump to get the synopsis, images, and a rather long peak at directors Byron Howard and Nathan Greno’s work, set to hit theaters in 3D and 2D on November 24.
I have to warn you now that the trailer [via Moviefone] shows quite a bit more than I am comfortable with audiences seeing at this point. I think this is a problem with the companies getting nearly finished films to make a trailer for, and giving a feel for the entire film instead of just the first hook. However, it still is a good trailer with a bevy of highlights. I also think it is odd that the trailer is so heavily focused on Flynn. Perhaps they will have a separate Rapunzel focused trailer soon as well? Let us know what you think in the comments below, and stay tuned for my set visit and interviews.
Here’s the official synopsis for Tangled:
“When the kingdom’s most wanted—and most charming—bandit Flynn Rider (voice of Zachary Levi) is taken hostage by Rapunzel (voice of Mandy Moore), a feisty teen with 70 feet of golden hair who’s looking for her ticket out of the tower where she’s been locked away for years, the unlikely duo sets off on a hilarious, hair-raising escapade filled with adventure, heart, humor and hair—lots of hair.”
