For those who don't know, Tangled was originally called Rapunzel.  But after The Princess and the Frog failed to attract the coveted demographic of young boys due to the word "princess" in its title, Rapunzel became Tangled.  The first trailer for the film continues that trend.  Most of it is devoted not to the long-haired princess, but to the roguish "Flynn Rider" who gets all the jokes, charm, and comes off like he's the main character.  He's amusing and I think Zachary Levi does a splendid job of voicing the character (you won't hear Chuck Bartowski), but I'm fascinated how they're trying to make sure it doesn’t come off like a "girl's movie" because apparently that's the worst thing ever.

I'm also a little surprised that at the look of the film because the CG on French Rococo artist Jean-Honore Fragonard’s painting “The Swing”.  Instead, it just looks like a standard animated CG movie.

Here's the official synopsis for Tangled:

When the kingdom's most wanted -- and most charming -- bandit Flynn Rider hides out in a mysterious tower, he's taken hostage by Rapunzel, a beautiful and feisty tower-bound teen with 70 feet of magical, golden hair. Flynn's curious captor, who's looking for her ticket out of the tower where she's been locked away for years, strikes a deal with the handsome thief and the unlikely duo sets off on an action-packed escapade, complete with a super-cop horse, an over-protective chameleon and a gruff gang of pub thugs.
