If it’s NSFW hijinks you’re looking for, you might want to check out the recently released red-band trailer for Ted 2 because this new cut is pretty tame. It’s also a little short on story except to show that things are not going so well for Ted and company. In the sequel to the R-rated comedy hit, Ted (Seth MacFarlane) and his new bride Tami-Lynn (Jessica Barth) want to adopt, but the magical teddy bear first has to prove his personhood in a court of law. Enter Amanda Seyfried as a young lawyer who attempts to train Ted and his thunder buddy John (Mark Wahlberg) how to behave in a court of law. Good luck.
The new trailer is OK, but lacks the comedic punch of some of the earlier looks. Does that mean that the MacFarlane project is only funny when there’s swearing, immature humor, and drug use involved? Probably, but at least you know what you’re paying for. Ted 2 is due in theaters on June 26th and also stars Liam Neeson, Giovanni Ribisi, John Slattery and Morgan Freeman.
