While there are many huge movies arriving this year, I’m pretty sure the one that will make me laugh the hardest is Seth MacFarlane‘s feature directorial debut Ted.  The film stars Mark Wahlberg as a 35-year-old man who’s still best friends with his teddy bear, Ted (voiced and mo-capped by Macfarlane), after his childhood wish brought the stuffed animal to life.  Now the bear is a foul-mouthed, pot-smoking freeloader who’s creating tension with his girlfriend (Mila Kunis).  I’ve spoken to a few people that have seen the film and they’re all ravings.  In addition, Wahlberg previously told me that it’s incredibly offensive.   For more on the film, check out this red-band trailer.  I promise you’ll laugh out loud.

Anyway, while walking around at CinemaCon this morning, I came across the first theater standee for Ted.  While some standees push a photoshopped cast, I love the way Universal is selling the rating by having Ted hold the sign.  For the average moviegoer who knows nothing about Ted, I think this standee is perfect.  Hit the jump to check it out and look for our continuing coverage from CinemaCon all week.

Here’s the synopsis for Ted:

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane brings his boundary-pushing brand of humor to the big screen for the first time as writer, director and voice star of Ted. In the live action/CG-animated comedy, he tells the story of John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg), a grown man who must deal with the cherished teddy bear who came to life as the result of a childhood wish…and has refused to leave his side ever since.

  1. I can’t believe people actually think this movie looks good. I didn’t even crack a smile at either of the trailers released. I love and respect Seth MacFarlane, but this movie looks like a flop.
