The green-band trailer for Ted has gone online.  Directed by Seth MacFarlane (Family Guy), the movie stars Mark Wahlberg as a 35-year-old man who’s still best friends with his teddy bear, Ted (voiced and mo-capped by Macfarlane), after his childhood wish brought the stuffed animal to life.  Now the bear is a foul-mouthed, pot-smoking freeloader who’s creating tension between the guy and the guy’s girlfriend (Mila Kunis).  Fans of Macfarlane’s TV shows will note the familiar markers: a Peter Griffin voice for Ted (to the point where it’s kind of distracting), and everyone in the world naturally accepting a supernatural character.  I really enjoyed the red-band trailer (I can’t get the “Thunder Song” out of my head), and while this new one isn’t quite as good, there’s a great joke near the end.

Here’s the official synopsis for Ted:

Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane brings his boundary-pushing brand of humor to the big screen for the first time as writer, director and voice star of Ted. In the live action/CG-animated comedy, he tells the story of John Bennett (Mark Wahlberg), a grown man who must deal with the cherished teddy bear who came to life as the result of a childhood wish…and has refused to leave his side ever since.

  1. Not as good as the red band trailer and you can tell their holding back the jokes because its a green band trailer. That said, I’m still excited and they showed a ton of new awesome footage.

  2. Nothing can describe just how hard I was laughing seeing Mark Wahlberg get beat up by a teddy bear. This movie is now officially on my must-watch list :D

  3. Looks like uttermost shit. Poster is quite funny, knowing that Mark is pissing with his enormous penis.

  4. Wow. This looks like complete and utter shit. Never going to see this. How terrible a premise could you have for a movie? A pot smoking teddy bear? Played by Seth McFarlane? Terrible idea. What is this world coming too?
