For what it’s worth, the cast and crew of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles know it wasn’t a great film. Everyone was trying to figure out what the tone of this movie was and, in the process, lost the heart and soul of the franchise. On the set of TMNT 2: Out of the Shadows, they vowed to make a better film, and we can even see this effort in a snippet from the new trailer announcement.
Stephen Amell, who plays (another) vigilante Casey Jones, announced a new TMNT 2 trailer is dropping this Monday morning and released a brief teaser for the trailer. While Leonardo (mo-capped by Pete Ploszek) and Donatello (Jeremy Howard) prepare for battle, Michelangelo (Noel Fisher) shoves four stacked pizza slices into his mouth. “Are we doing something?” he asks.

Director Dave Green stepped in for Jonathan Liebesman on TMNT 2, which also features the return of Megan Fox as April O’Neil, Will Arnett as Vernon Fenwick, William Fichtner as Eric sacks, Alan Ritchson as Raphael, and Tony Shalhoub as the voice of Splinter. Laura Linney plays police chief Rebecca Vincent, Tyler Perry plays scientist Baxter Stockman, Brian Tee play Shredder, Gary Anthony Williams plays Bebop, WWE fighter Sheamus plays Rocksteady, and Brittany Ishibashi plays Karai.
SNL vet Fred Armisen was recently announced to voice Krang. The latter made his debut in the film’s Super Bowl trailer descending from a portal in the sky. Speaking from a panel at WonderCon, producers Andrew Form and Brad Fuller promised fans will see more of the fan-favorite character in the marketing moving ahead. So expect to see a new look at the brainiac.
Co-produced by Michael Bay, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: Out of the Shadows will debut in theaters on June 3rd.
