Paramount Pictures has unveiled a new trailer for the action sequel Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, and I can’t believe I’m saying this, but this movie looks surprisingly fun. Earth to Echo filmmaker Dave Green takes over as director this time around, presumably to angle the franchise towards its younger-skewing fans, but this new trailer previews a colorful, silly, fun-loving blockbuster that actually looks kinda fun.

The story of the sequel finds the turtles going up against iconic villains from the comics, including Krang, Bebop, and Rocksteady, as the arrival of a new mysterious formula may hold the key to turning the turtles into humans, adding a potential existential conflict to the familiar “villains trying to take over the world” conceit.

The first Turtles film did quite well at the box office, so clearly there’s an audience for this franchise, and I’m curious to see if this sequel will add even more fans. I’ll admit I had zero interest in this follow-up, but this trailer certainly makes a case for a fun popcorn flick.

Check out the new trailer below. The film stars Megan Fox, Stephen AmellWill Arnett, Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, Pete Ploszek,Jeremy Howard, Stephen Amell, Tyler Perry, Brian Tee, Laura Linney,Sheamus, and Gary Anthony Williams. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows opens in theaters on June 3rd.

Here’s the official synopsis for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows:

Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael return to cinemas this summer to battle bigger, badder villains, alongside April O’Neil (Megan Fox), Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett), and a newcomer: the hockey-masked vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell). After supervillain Shredder escapes custody, he joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and two dimwitted henchmen, Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (WWE Superstar Stephen “Sheamus” Farrelly), to unleash a diabolical plan to take over the world. As the Turtles prepare to take on Shredder and his new crew, they find themselves facing an even greater evil with similar intentions: the notorious Krang.
