TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Clip Features Turtle Beatboxing, Shredder and More

     August 6, 2014

I don’t even know where to begin with this first clip from Jonathan Liebesman’s Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles because there are actually quite a few elements worth highlighting.  First off, it delivers a solid laugh courtesy of a mid-chase Turtles beatbox session, then they run right into Shredder and after that, we finally hear one of our heroes shout an iconic Turtles catchphrase.  It’s pretty satisfying for less than two minutes of material.

You can catch the Turtles in action in the clip after the jump and, in case you missed it, we’ve also got some set visit coverage up and running including a main report and an interview with Megan Fox and Will Arnett as well as a bunch of brand new stills from the film.  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles arrives in theaters on Friday, August 8th and also stars William Fichtner, Johnny Knoxville and Tony Shalhoub.

Here’s the official synopsis for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brother rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.

It surprisingly doesn’t look bad. It actually looks fun to me. Not sure what the hate is all about? I mean has anyone actually gone back to watch the 80′s cartoon? Or have seen the 3 live action films that were released around that time? I mean read the title to the film..slowly…and just let it sink in as to what you are about to get yourself into.

Agreed. Also check the reviews for those films that we loved growing up… they weren’t that great either. I loved watching them when I was kid, so I’ll go see this regardless.

I’ve been looking forward to seeing it for some time now. I think it will be fun and that’s good enough for me, but from a few reviews I’ve read, what they’ve done to the story is a travesty. It doesn’t make anything better, it doesn’t improve things and I just can’t seem to put any logic behind the changes other than they felt it just had to be different.

then we grow up a realize what shit it was and want something better.. not more shit like this

      • http://www.collider.com/ DNAsplitter

But as a kid you did not think it was shit -in fact you probably enjoyed it. And that’s the type of audience that this is appealing to is a new generation of boys and girls and young teenagers. See how steller the review were for the 1st TMNT film in ’90 but yet all the kids still loved it.

… so Justin Timberlake is now in TMNT…

It would be cool if one day they did a movie like the original comic run, or the recent IDW stuff. I think it would work well as an animation.

I still can’t get over how much the turtles in the very 1st movie (up to THIS day) look lightyears better than this. Its so god damn fake, its like watching transformers all over again . .. and i HATE transformers.

I will undoubtedly get flack for saying this but here it goes. Everyone shitting on this movie before having even seen it, needs to revert back to their 90s/80s selves and remember what it was like to watch ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ for the first time. Remember how fun it was, the hip hop culture on the rise, the new technology, the birth of movie product advertising and advances in special effects/technology. Remember all that? Well, it’s no different today. Really. (With the exception of more crap being allowed through the floodgates, and corperate suits more interested in making $ rather than a good quality..) Regardless, we’re having a re-emergence again, 20 something years later…and if you were a child today (thank god we’re not lol) but if we were…this would look AWESOMME. As a child.
I’ll admit it. I hated the first images of the turtles, the fact that a director like Liebesman(with a rather bad movie track record) was going to be helming this…produced by none other than Michael Bay.
But the movie isn’t trying to be anything else but a kid’s movie. It’s produced by Nickelodeon for god’s sake. That should’ve been the first clue.
The kid inside me for one thinks, now that we’ve gotten better looks at the turtles themselves and more of Shredder and Splinter…this movie will be a lot of fun. I’m not going in as the intelligent movie goer looking for well produced storytelling and characters in this movie…I’m just expecting some fun action and jokes abound, a reminder to when I was a kid. That’s it.

Bwahahaha, I am so going to see this with my son this weekend!

When do we get a Shredder/Transformer crossover flick? This shit looks horrible
