So there’s a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV spot out there.  It’s got new footage, more Michelangelo zingers – and a rap song.  Yup, this piece is basically cut like a music video because it’s got “Shell Shocked” by Juicy J, Wiz Khalifa and Ty Dolla $ign featuring Kill The Noise and Madsonik booming in the background. The video is actually cut really well and rocks a serious amount of momentum.  Hit the jump to check it out as well as that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles rap song in full.  The film arrives in theaters on August 8th and stars Megan Fox, Will Arnett, William Fichtner, Alan Ritchson, Noel Fisher, Jeremy Howard and Peter Ploszek.

First off, the footage.  This thing is growing on me more and more.  Initially, the excessively comedic tone was a little off-putting and the action in the trailers was tough to follow, but ever since that preview screening in New York, the incredible detail on the turtles and their humor is winning me over.  It’s rather unlikely that this will be the best of the best this summer, but based on the promotional campaign thus far, it is looking like harmless fun, and this TV spot further proves it. Admittedly, the second “Shell Shocked” kicked in, it was nearly impossible not to roll my eyes, but there’s also no denying that the beat gives the piece a ton of energy.  The full song has a similar effect as well.  They’re rapping about Ninja Turtles; it’s hard not to laugh a little, but I dare you to keep from bobbing your head to the beat - or whatever it is you do - by the end of the track.  This line in particular kills me:

“Me and my bros come together for the dough. Bought the orange Lamborghini, call it Michelangelo.”
