Paramount has released a trailer teaser for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The first trailer will arrive online later today, but this teaser shows William Fichtner (who plays Shredder) explaining to April O’Neill (Megan Fox) that “heroes aren’t born; they’re created”, which is true. There are no crime-fighting babies (Dear Hollywood: Make movie about crime-fighting babies), so naturally the next best things are turtles. The teaser does provide a good close-up of Michelangelo, and it makes me have more respect for the animatronic versions from the 1990 movies. I’m not exactly sure creating a “realistic”-looking, giant, talking turtle is the best idea.
Hit the jump to check out the teaser, click here for Steve’s reaction to the footage from CinemaCon, be sure to see what screenwriter André Nemec had to say about the film, and come back later today for the full trailer. The film also stars Will Arnett, Alan Ritchson, Pete Ploszek, Jeremy Howard, Danny Woodburn, and Noel Fisher. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opens August 8th.
