First TV Spot for TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Provides a Glimpse of Splinter

     April 13, 2014

In addition to releasing a new TV spot for Transformers: Age of Extinction, Paramount also released a new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles TV spot during tonight’s MTV Movie Awards (MTV and Paramount are both part of the big, happy Viacom family).  This TV spot emphasizes the importance of brotherhood and “nothing is as strong as family,” especially when your family consists of giant, mutated turtles and a rat.  Speaking of which, this TV spot also provides a brief look at the turtles’ sensei, Splinter (who will be voiced by Tony Shalhoub).

Hit the jump to check out the TV spot.  The film also stars Megan Fox, Will Arnett, and William Fichtner with Johnny Knoxville as the voice of Leonardo.  Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles opens August 8th.

Here’s the synopsis for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles:

The city needs heroes. Darkness has settled over New York City as Shredder and his evil Foot Clan have an iron grip on everything from the police to the politicians. The future is grim until four unlikely outcast brothers rise from the sewers and discover their destiny as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The Turtles must work with fearless reporter April and her wise-cracking cameraman Vern Fenwick to save the city and unravel Shredder’s diabolical plan.

I agree……the shots of Ralph and the other action all just seems……bleh.

and i am not into this johnny knoxville shit…..let the actos play the characters

Only one of the actors played the character and that was only in the first one.
Ralph Pias played Raphael and he was also the guy in the cab when Raph chased down Casey Jones. But you already know that, don’t you?

Okay, so basically I have lost interest in this movie.

I did not get pumped up, which has NEVER happened to me before. It’s such a strange sensation… and I am normally so easily entertained!

    • James Kilgore

MEH, you’ll be back to bitch about how lost of interest you are soon.

  • Old Soldier

    Sing with me:
    Teen-age Mutant-ninja ster-oids
    Teen age Mutant-ninja ster-oids…..

      You want them skinny?

      • Spanky

Why can we only choose one extreme or another? Why not the in between, fit type look?

Oh wait.. you just want to troll

Did call your mom a slut? Dude I have an opinion as much as the next guy. I like how they look he disagrees. And I had cat named Spanky he’s dead now like your intention to bring me down to your level. Good day to you sir✌️

      • Old Soldier

Well no, but- I’d rather they not look like the Hulk ether.

Dude if you trained you whole life to be a ninja and you were a mutant turtle, how would you want look? They were never slim at any point the always had mussels. I think they will need it this time around the FOOT CLAN has guns now. I can’t turn my back like every other so called fan. Not saying that’s you but so called fans didn’t even know Splinter was in this or told people who don’t even read up on movies that.

  • gar216

    Raph is way too big.

    • James Kilgore

HAAAAAAAAOHGODHAHAHAH, this is a real compliant.

  • mattinacan

i… just… have no words… for this awfulness

    • James Kilgore

I know these stains are bad.

Why don’t people just realize how cheesy the old ones were. Do you people have a hard time picking between fish and chicken at a buffet? You would stand there and piss your pants before you decide to have both LMMFAO! Get over it! The old TMNT is what it is old,so keep your old ass home and don’t see it. The first one is the only good one I dub this the sequel we should have gotten instead of a Ninja Rap funny as kid but lame now.

  • JBug

    I’m loving this!

  • JBug

I don’t understand all the hate for this. Are we saying live TMNT shouldn’t be attempted anymore? Should they just leave the originals alone? This looks more than serviceable. I know I am in the minority, but it doesn’t bother me that they are still making Transformers movies and to a certain extent, I look forward to them every other year. This isn’t because they are amazing movies, but because they are pretty fun, and because kid me from the 90s would have pissed his pants from excitement at the awesome scale and action that these movies deliver. If TMNT manages to capture a fraction of the heart of the old movies and deliver action on a Transformers level, I think I’ll enjoy the reboot. I’m happy to be getting something, and I wouldn’t set the quality bar anywhere near TDK or other comic book favorites. They just better like pizza!

There’s a little something called Michael Bay involved here. Confirmed bias.
