It’s been quite a while since we’ve seen anything from Jack Black and Kyle Gass’ greatest rock band of all time, Tenacious D, but the dry spell has now come to an end. The duo has released a video chronicling their return and teasing their new album, Rize of the Fenix. The video begins with an Extra special covering the demise of Tenacious D following the box office failure of Tenacious D in The Pick of Destiny, then brings on a slew of celebrity cameos (Val Kilmer! Dave Grohl! Josh Groban?) that help bring the band back to its former glory. It’s pretty funny and definitely worth your time, especially for the Val Kilmer awesomeness.

much rather this be the plot to bill and ted 3. never been too big a fan of tenacious d, altho jack black was awesome in school of rock.
I will continue to bemoan the lost of Tenacious D, and this piece of shit excuse for a video changes that nought. If only somebody would convince Val Kilmer to really take a bullet for somebody, the world would be a better place.
Watched this video and was really impressed. I’ve loved Tenacious D ever since the movie came out (haven’t seen but bits and pieces of it) and this really got stoked. Their new album hits stores May 15th and they have announced a summer tour, probably to the surprise of no one.
