Today, in collaboration with our partners at Complex, we’ve got an exclusive new clip for Terminator: GenisysAlan Taylor’s (Thor: The Dark World) film begins with future John Connor (Jason Clarke) sending Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) back in time to the year 1983 in order to save his mother (Emilia Clarke) from assassination. When Reese arrives in the past, however, he finds Sarah under the protection of a guardian T-800 (Arnold Schwarzenegger) while on the run from deadly (and familiar) enemies.

Check out our exclusive Terminator: Genisys clip below. The film also stars Matt SmithByung-hun LeeDayo OkeniyiCourtney B. Vance, and J.K. Simmons.Terminator: Genisys opens in 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on July 1st.

So there we have it, John Connor is 100%, without a question, a villain in the new film. I’m very intrigued to see how that plays out, and more interestingly, how it came to be. This definitely takes Genisys way off the map of anything we’ve seen before in the Terminator franchise, opening up unlimited possibilities for this alternate timeline.

We’ve also got an exclusive look at Terminator‘s Waze takeover, which launched yesterday, giving users the option to receive navigation instructions from Arnold Schwarzenegger as the “Gaurdian” Terminator from Genisys.

Here’s a bit more information about the features offered by the Terminator addition to the Waze app:

Starting today, users of the world’s largest community-based traffic and navigation app can select custom Terminator voice commands from the Terminator himself. The Terminator will give directions to user’s destinations and alert them if a T-1000 is spotted ahead. In addition, movie theater locations showing “TERMINATOR GENISYS” will be branded with the iconic red-eyed Endoskull, helping WAZE users to see the film when it opens in theaters on July 1st 2015.
