The first trailer for the comedy Thatâs My Boy arrived last week in the form of a red-band trailer. The film marks the first R-rated Adam Sandler comedy since 1996âs Bulletproof, and while the idea of a Sandler/Andy Samberg team-up was appealing, I wasnât exactly thriller with the red-band trailer; it seemed like Sandler yelling âfuckâ was the punch-line for nearly every joke. That said, I actually laughed quite a bit more at this new green-band trailer. It reveals why, despite being father and son, Sandler and Sambergâs characters are so close in age, and features a few funny gags that Samberg sells really well.Hit the jump to watch the trailer and check out the new poster. The film also stars Leighton Meester and James Caan. Thatâs My Boy opens June 15th.Trailer and poster via MTV.Hereâs the official synopsis for Thatâs My Boy:
While still in his teens, Donny (Adam Sandler) fathered a son, Todd (Andy Samberg), and raised him as a single parent up until Toddâs 18th birthday. Now, after not seeing each other for years, Toddâs world comes crashing down on the eve of his wedding when an uninvited Donny suddenly shows up. Trying desperately to reconnect with his son, Donny is now forced to deal with the repercussions of his bad parenting skills.
