The first trailer for the comedy That’s My Boy arrived last week in the form of a red-band trailer. The film marks the first R-rated Adam Sandler comedy since 1996’s Bulletproof, and while the idea of a Sandler/Andy Samberg team-up was appealing, I wasn’t exactly thriller with the red-band trailer; it seemed like Sandler yelling “fuck” was the punch-line for nearly every joke. That said, I actually laughed quite a bit more at this new green-band trailer. It reveals why, despite being father and son, Sandler and Samberg’s characters are so close in age, and features a few funny gags that Samberg sells really well.
Hit the jump to watch the trailer and check out the new poster. The film also stars Leighton Meester and James Caan. That’s My Boy opens June 15th.

Here’s the official synopsis for That’s My Boy:
While still in his teens, Donny (Adam Sandler) fathered a son, Todd (Andy Samberg), and raised him as a single parent up until Todd’s 18th birthday. Now, after not seeing each other for years, Todd’s world comes crashing down on the eve of his wedding when an uninvited Donny suddenly shows up. Trying desperately to reconnect with his son, Donny is now forced to deal with the repercussions of his bad parenting skills.

The red band was mostly trying to say Sandler was not going family friendly this time out.
That being said, I don’t think anything in this tops Leighton’s last line from the red band trailer.
“the first R-rated Adam Sandler comedy since 1996’s Bulletproof”
weird, I thought “Funny People” was rated R.
It was, but it was ACTUALLY a good movie… Adam Sandler doesn’t count it. Its like a stain on his impeccable record of sh**.
Funny People was a dramedy, not comedy.
Looks Great !!!!
Sweet!
