New Images from THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Featuring Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone & Jamie Foxx

     November 8, 2013

Well this is a weird one.  We’ve got a trio of images that appear to be from Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, though I personally hope they’re all photoshopped.  As you can tell from the above image, Spidey apparently joins the brave men and women of the NYFD in the sequel, albeit for a brief time most likely.  Jamie Foxx also appears as the villainous Electro and he looks rather pissed off; water and electricity don’t mix, after all.  Lastly, Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield appear troubled, mostly by Garfield’s hair.  Hit the jump to vet them for yourselves.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Amazing Spider-Man 2:

In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

A little presumptuous to have Spidey wear the hat of real life heroes. I’d think Peter Parker would be a bit more humble.

    • tarek

this is not spiderman. this is the Joker wearing a spidey suit.

  • JK1193

Wait, when did Woodley re-join the film? I thought she was out and Sarah Gadon would be MJ in the third one?

    • grapes9h5

I think that’s an error due to lazy copy and paste on every article since before she was cut out.

  • Kevin

    Weird 9/11 imagery.

    • Jacob

You see a firefighter and a hose and the first thing that comes to your mind is 9/11?

MOS is like a million times more guilty of 9/11 imagery, what with dozens of buildings being blown to smithereens.

      • Lolwut

Yeah, besides the terraforming world-engines on opposite sides of Earth and the distinct lack of planes hitting buildings, its uncanny how similar the two events are…..

      • Junesong

To be fair – planes do hit buildings in MOS – but I think all this 9/11 talk is over sensitive over thinking

      • Muckbane

True. Besides, MOS was more about the Jesus imagery than anything else.

      • Geoff

Star Trek Into Darkess has it worse than Man of Steel.

      • Roderick

The real contribution of 9/11 to cinema was dust. Filmmakers realized just how much dust, ash and soot are released when large buildings are destroyed – Spielberg’s War of the Worlds was the first movie pos-9/11 that really took that on board, and it was clearly a conscious choice to play up the metaphor as well.

      • CuntLips

None of those films are guilty of 9/11 imagery because none of those films demonstrated the world’s largest organized multi-building professional demolishment by a construction company :)

Although the CG was very nice!

      • Kevin

I see a superhero synonymous with New York wearing a firefighter hat. The Raimi films used American flags all the time because it was after 9/11. Logical extension.

  • Person

This movie, like the one before it, is going to be absolutely terrible.

    • TheMattedScreen

Saw the first one on my birthday, bad birthday…

  • The Flobbit

And just like that…all my anticipation for the film drops like a popped balloon. What is this – Spidey Saves the Day, Electro as a monk, teen angst?

Just when it took me months to get excited.

  • eternalozzie

cant wait for this movie … the first one was great … Spider-man with a modern feel and without the ridiculous Raimi campy crap … no power ranger villains either :)

If they are going with a more jokester and fun Spider-Man, then I am happy. Spider-Man is funny. He jokes and beats people while getting beat up himself. The movie shouldn’t take itself too seriously, nor be too dark or gritty. That’s not Spider-Man. The original Ultimate Spider-Man run of Bendis and Bagley should be the model.

Firefighter, firefighter, does whatever a firefighter does. Can he swing from a web? No he can’t, he’s a firefighter. Look out! Here comes the firefighter!
