THE AMAZING SPIDER-MAN 2 Set Images and Video Featuring Shailene Woodley and Andrew Garfield

Another batch of pics, plus a brief video of a car stunt, have leaked from the NYC set of Marc Webb’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2. This is the fifth (yes, fifth!) batch of set photos to have surfaced online in the past week. This morning, we got a glimpse of Andrew Garfield’s Peter Parker and Emma Stone’s Gwen Stacy taking a stroll in Chinatown, and now we have Shailene Woodley popping up as Mary Jane, who in this version of the Spidey-verse is a waitress — a mighty concerned waitress if these pics have anything to show.

Also starring Jamie Foxx, Dane DeHaan, Paul Giamatti, Felicity Jones, Chris Cooper, Sally Field, and Martin Sheen, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 opens in 3D on May 2, 2014. Hit the jump to check out the pics and the vid.

In The Amazing Spider-Man™ 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy – between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough. Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away – but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.

She’s just not hot enough to play the part. I can think of hundreds of young actresses that are more suitable and believable for the part. Btw, how do we even know she’s a good actress? Because she did one movie that she was half way decent in? I had high hopes for this franchise because I like Garfield, Stone, and I loved 500 days of summer, but everything I’ve seen thus far has been horrible. This is not to put down Woodley, she could be a fine actress with the right role, but she’s horribly miscast in this role.

Still a butterface…just a butterface with makeup on. At this point Gwen Stacey is hotter than MJ, and that’s not even supposed to be close to true.

  Well, technically Gwen Stacy was Pete’s dream girl, he just settled for MJ after he killed Gwen. Marvel’s House of M confirms this.

  Because “looks” are specifically part of MJ’s character. She is supposed to be the unattainable beauty that stops traffic, and someone so gorgeous that Parker would never in a million years think she’d even look at him twice. This girl is merely “cute”. Obviously there is a disconnect between the source material and this film.

    unfortunately it isnt true. she looks like a pig in makeup, not at all close to the source material. didnt MJ go on to be a model? if i had to describe her in a word…it’d be “dumpy”.
    
    wheres the hot red head that Parker is too afraid to even talk to? that was a big part of shaping his character. a nerd fearful of rejection of the girl every guy falls for. this chick looks like the girl you asked to go to prom after the first 5 girls already had dates.

  Honestly, I do get why some fanboys might be a bit worried. This girl cleans up waaay better than these pictures are showing so even I am kind of wondering why they have MJ the model looking less glamorous than girl-next-door Gwen Stacy. Because they tried almost too hard with Gwen. I’ve almost never seen Emma Stone so done up than in the last movie.
  
  But yeah, seriously. What’s with all the vicious comments for the actress herself? I’d like these guys post pictures of themselves and see how they feel about what others say.

Whatever you may think, she still has some serious work to do about her look to even catch up with MJ. I just watched the first, and it was a bit more of disaster than perfection, but with MJ well below the bar, heck no!

I almost feel sorry for her. Spider-Man fans are complaining she’s to ugly to play MJ; yet Divergent fans are complaining she’s too hot and sexy to play Tris!

She already looks way hotter than Kirsten Dunst did in her Spiderman movies and that’s before “movie magic” makes her look even better. No worries from me about her aspect of the movie. There potentially being 3 villains in it? Lots of worry. Fingers crossed it’s two villains at the very most and they’re just introducing Norman Osborn in this, which sets him up to be Green Goblin in the 3rd film of this series. Since they’re also introducing Harry Osborn in this movie, it would make a lot of sense to do it that way.

Until you’ve seen her actually speaking and playing the part it’s ridiculous to offer the opinion that she’s miscast. If she brings any of the spark and heart she had in the Descendants she’s perfect.

But let’s get to the meat of the problem here, the bullies, and yes if you’re calling a young girl a pig in make up or commenting on man jowls you’re a bully, the bullies commenting own her looks need to give themselves a good hard smack in the junk. Remember that this is a real live girl you ‘re talking about and somebodies daughter.
