THE ANSWER MAN Trailer

We’re going to keep coming back to “The Squid and the Whale” and wondering whether or not Jeff Daniels can ever top his performance in that film.  Looking at the trailer for “The Answer Man”, it probably won’t be this time.  Daniels plays Arlen Faber, a man who wrote a best-selling self-help book and then went recluse for five years only to be pulled out of his apartment by a bad back and fall in love with his chiropractor (Lauren Graham).  It looks like a wholly inoffensive romance flick and perhaps that’s my biggest problem with it: you have talented performers like Daniels, Graham and supporting roles from Lou Taylor Pucci and Olivia Thirlby and I want more challenging material for them.
