We’re about to get a brand new look at Joss Whedon’s The Avengers this Sunday during the Super Bowl (watch a teaser for the spot here), but today a couple of promotional banners hit the web. They’re reminiscent of the numerous character banners we’ve seen previously, but we get another look at the elusive Hulk. As the fllm’s release date looms closer, we should be seeing more and more of the Mark Ruffalo-infused green alter ego as the visual effects work progresses. The banners also give us a small look at Cobie Smulders’ Agent Maria Hill. In addition, a new image of Tom Hiddleston looking fairly maniacal as Loki has hit the web, so that’s included after the jump as well.

Hit the jump to check out the banners. The film also stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, and Jeremy Renner. The Avengers opens in IMAX 3D on May 4th.

Why does all the promo stuff have the Mark 3 suit and not the newer suit with the triangular chest piece?

    • Steve Rudzinski

Apparently the Mark 7 goes back to the non-triangle version of the chest.

  • Antonio

    Captain America looks RETARDED.

They need to fix that costume STAT!

  • LAME

Loki and Hulk are the only reasons why I’m going to watch this movie.

    • O.R.

They don’t really care about your reasons as long as you go see it.

Problem: definitely Cap. For starters, his suit needs to be darker so it doesn’t look like a cartoon
Better: just about everything else, especially Iron Man. And the fact that Mario Hill is in fact going to appear.

    • Jon

I agree about darkening the costume. Funny thing is, when images of Superman showed up with more muted colors, people lost their $hit saying it was too dark. You can’t win can you?

  • Steven

The marketing folks need to get their shit together because these promo images they’ve been releasing over the last few months have been horrible and cheesy.

    • Mandy

I agree. I’m not a fan of the marketing stuff so far. If I wasn’t already a fan, Idk what I’d think of this movie. They need to step away from the photoshop and then stop releasing images of each character in the same pose, but from different angles.

I’m honestly still a little suprised that they didn’t take a card from TDK and do some fun viral marketing.

  • Jason

WHY did they change Cap’s suit from the awesome costume/uniform/suit from the first movie. That suit was inspired. This one just looks ridiculous. It reminds me of the ridiculous TV movie from the 90s.

  • Jake

I agree. Cap’s cowl/helmet is pretty bad. Anyone else think that the filmmakers realized this too late into principal photography and decided that Cap should fight without his cowl/helmet on in some of the fight scenes in NYC?

  • ipolos

the marketing for this movie has been horrendous in my opinion. The trailer was very meh, the song they played was so corny, and cap’s costume looks incredibly stupid
i feel like theyre coasting just cause they know they have a sure-hit on their hands

  • HB

Hmm..find out more about real Scarlett by typing Scarlett Johansson clone in Google search bar and you would see much more then in The Island movie..

  • Womanshouldbeinkitchen

shutup you fn nerds about your costume complaints. sheesh

    • dogg

Uh, so you troll movie nerd web sites to bash movie nerds?
      Don’t be that guy.

  • FilmFan

Agreed, Captain America’s costume is a great disappointment, a lot of missed potential there. The scary thing is that according to an earlier Collider post, Joss Whedon was the idea man for Cap’s new duds. With decision making like, you have to wonder about this film.

  • rickysentryfan

U might as well not watch tdkr if u think small changes will effect the movie . I agree cap’s suit in the first avenger was fucking awesome, but this is not his movie, theres so many things thats gonna catch ppl by suprise. and ill tell u this for a fact, it will be better than the amazing spider man and green lantern combined. The point is u cant let small defects ruin the movie like the song? really? its not like its gonna be used in the movie so who cares.

    • Andeman

Being better than Green Lantern isn’t exactly an accomplishment. you have failed if you are being compared to Green Lantern

      • rickysentryfan

I just saw the extended trailer during the super bowl and i have higher hopes for this movie than before. I know for a fact it will be better than spider-man. But of course tdkr will be alot better. Ppl should just ignore Cap’s suit and worry more about the story and the plot. Because it seems tht the Avengers will be taking on more than just loki, and btw, the hulk looks awesome and original in my opinion. He’s gonna be kick-ass!!!!!

  • Dannyboy3030

As a big Cap guy I have to agree about the costume. I really dug the suit from The First Avenger but I’m not gonna let this ruin the movie for me.

  • TheDarkKnightRises

i can care less about the costumes cause i know this movie is going to suck big time even though we all know its going to make a butt load of money cause the fact of what the movie is!

    • Aurora Vampiris

Congratulations! With that username, no one will EVER know you’re trolling. Very subtle.

  • Ark

This is going to be the dumbest movie in the history of mankind.

  • Rockslide

I echo all the comments about Cap’s suit. I really wish they would have kept something more similar to the First Avenger, it looked far better. Even stepping into more of The Ultimates version would have been better than this new one.

  • Spence

I would like to point out that this is just a shitty marketing image that has been photoshopped to hell so they can put it on toy packages. Keep in mind that most shots like this for Iron Man and Thor looked equally awful. These aren’t about artistic shots, they’re about kids being able to go “hey look, it’s Captain America!”

I’m sure the suit will look fine. It looks fine in the trailer and the other production stills.

  • Andeman

The suit does suck, it’s the little details like his suit or a song that make the movie. If those little details aren’t there you know you will be left disappointed. I had high hopes for this movie but that hope is fading, fast! It’s gonna be about how much action and explosions they can throw at you rather than quality.

  • Lulzatron

Cap’s suit only looks bad in the already terrible promo posters. You can see it’s darker in the trailers. If it was any darker it would be purple and god knows how crazy the comments would be then…

Oh whoops. I mean…erm.. THIS MOVIE IS GOING TO BE SO BAD EVEN THOUGH WE DON’T KNOW THAT MUCH ABOUT IT!

  • jimbo

The film is going to be great. Apparantly CapAm is man guy from a story point of view but Loki and Hulk will be doing most of the ‘damage’. Yes CapAm’s suit is bright but it’s a poster, hopefully it’ll be okay (seems to be from trailer). Still perplexed by the amount of emphasis on Black Widow’s character, maybe it’s to attract a demographic – appeal to girls and teen boys. Anyhow, I am excited. Especially now i’ve seen to trailer for Prometheus and disappointing that looks.
