Marvel has been unveiling bits and pieces from the special features included on the Blu-ray/DVD for The Avengers over the past few days in anticipation of the film’s home video release next month, and we’re happy to exclusively debut a new featurette on Collider today. On top of balancing a massive ensemble of characters, writer/director Joss Whedon was also tasked with introducing the helicarrier to audiences in The Avengers. In this clip from the featurette “Marvel’s The Avengers – A Visual Journey”, fans get a look at the design process behind the new helicarrier, how much of the ship was digital (hint: pretty much all of it), and more. Whedon also talks about how much they pulled from the comics with the new design.
Hit the jump to watch the clip. The Avengers will be available on Blu-ray, DVD, and digital download on September 25th. You can also pre-order the set right now on Amazon.
