The most audactious superhero movie of all-time needs a ittle space between when it begins shooting and when it’s set to come out. Superhero Hype reports that Joss Whedon’s The Avengers is set go before cameras in February 2011. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on May 4, 2012. I would be more impressed if the news was that they planned to shoot The Avengers in Whedon’s backyard a week before the movie came out.
We know nothing about the plot of the film, but we know the cast: Robert Downey Jr. as Iron Man, Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Chris Evans as Captain America, Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow, Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye, and Mark Ruffalo as The Hulk. It will be interesting to see how Downey arranges his busy schedule as he’s also due for Sherlock Holmes 2 (which will almost definitely shoot by the end of this year), Oz, The Great and Powerful, and Alfonso Cuaron’s Gravity.
