A few new images from The Avengers have popped up online. As we’ve crossed the threshold into the New Year, the release date for the star-studded superhero movie is looming. These new images give us a look at Iron Man in flight, as well as some familiar peeks at a fight involving Chris Hemsworth’s Thor and Chris Evans’ Captain America. Hopefully a new trailer will drop sometime soon so we can take another gander at what director Joss Whedon has in store.

Hit the jump to check out the images. The film also stars Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddleston, and Stellan Skarsgard. The Avengers opens in 3D on May 4th.
