With Marvel releasing part of The Avengers teaser trailer online (watch it here), I’ve grabbed ten images from the clip and you can check them out after the jump. While Marvel has been filming The Avengers for awhile now, this is the first time we’ve got a good look at everyone except for some concept art. It’s also the first time we’re getting a peak at the new Captain America costume. Also, if you went to Comic-Con, you might notice the background where Mark Ruffalo is standing…

when i saw the teaser trailer i could help my self to laugh, tony stark was so funny he touch thor ha ha ha! i like the new costume of the captain it is so modern then the others are fine.. exciting huh
I know I’m in the minority here, but I’m not a huge fan of Captain America’s Avenger’s costume. I thought the functional design from The First Avenger was great, but this new design just looks a bit silly next to the costumes for the other characters.
I agree with the Cap costume. They should have left it or kept it close to the first avenger costume

Caps costume in The First Avenger was spot on. This new look seems to be some padded hybrid. CAP looks straight out of the 80′s.
My guess is that Stark designed his new outfit so he can take more damage.
Oh well its a nitpick I dotn think I have ever anticipated a movie more than THE AVENGERS.

Thank you Marvel! I just saw Captain America today and was waiting after the cliff-hanging ending! This is going to be absolutely epic and I’m interested in seeing Mark Ruffalo’s take on Bruce Banner.
Just one problem: Chris Hemsworth’s hair. Don’t get me wrong, I absolutely love Chris, but I hate his wig in this. It’s way too long! Get used to it, I guess.

Boo! Jane actually has a personality. Sif could have been replaced with a robot drone and no one would have noticed.
And yes, that applies to the comics too. Although the robot drone wouldn’t emo as much about why a guy doesn’t feel as much about her as she does about him.
that would be appreciated. the natalie portman/thor relationship was underdeveloped, just like every other element of that script. it would be nice to see some of that stuff fleshed out.
of course, it would probably take 2.5-3 hours to do justice to all of the characters and tell a complete story, and that isn’t something marvel seems up to anymore (with the possible exception of captain america).
Who’ll they get to do licensed music for this one?

Not much of a comic reader lately huh? Hawkeye has been married and maintains a long time relationship with Mockingbird and Black Widow was with Bucky Cap.
Dude, I’m talking about the original run. She also banged Matt Murdoch, Hercules, Matt Murdoch again, Bucky, and even Tony (in the Ultimate universe). Pointing out the changes in continuity is like pointing out the grains of sand that get washed away by the tide. I can just see the objections during the late 90′s. Peter Parker as Spider Man?! Don’t they know that lately Ben Reilly has been Spider Man and that he’s really a clone?! Let’s face it, when it comes to the Marvel universe, they stick to the most recognized/original love stories. Thor & Jane. Capt. & Peggy (Sharon later). Tony & Pepper. Bruce & Betty. Black Widow & Hawkeye.
I like the idea that Capt is u[dated clothes but rocking 1940′s hairstyle. I can imagine Stark having fun with Steve being a fish out of water.

I don´t know the set looks kinda cheap and claustrophobic more like a tv series and the costume of Thor indeed looks like a cosplayer the first one looks fine why mess with it, cap is ok, hawkeye need something more i miss the mask a little. I really don´t trust in Joss Whedon as a filmmaker as a writer maybe. humble opinion.

I find the set fairly uninspired; they should take some tips from the Star Trek bridge in Abrams version and shoot it dynamic as hell.

Could be under the shirt. In the first two Iron Man movies you did not see them when he was wearing tuxedo and such just when he had a see thru singlet or something.

Okay, I know this is blasphemy, but I’m just going to say it. Why does Captain America need a helmet? After 70 years, I’m sure everyone knows he’s Steve Rogers, so he’s not protecting his identity (in fact, in the movie I think everyone knew it during WWII). He’s not invulnerable like the Hulk or Thor, but neither are Hawkeye or Black Widow, and they’re not wearing any headgear.
I would prefer that they go back to the more realistic costume they used in First Avenger, but if not, I’d prefer they just ditch the helmet altogether, or at least go to one that doesn’t cover his face. They got rid of Thor’s helmet and that looks fine.
What I’m wondering, as someone who has not really kept up with the comics, is why Tony Stark wouldn’t make Captain America a red white and blue suit of powered armor?
They did that in the comics. It was Bendis’ Dark Avengers. Norman Osborn was the Iron Patriot I believe. He essentially was the Captain America of the Dark Avengers, only in powered suit.
It looks like Tony probably helped design Cap’s suit, with armored panels and the like.

While he does look a bit on the gay side I think he potrays a god very well with his idyllic figure and yes his long flowing hair lol..
I think once the movie and action ramp up the style of his hair wont mean a thing..
I may be sounding a bit stiff but with the whole AVENGERS crew teaming up for this wont any other individual sequel that comes out for IRON MAN, THOR, CAP, HULK ETC all be watered down?
How can each of those singular heroes have any sort of drama or conflict in their own respective movies when all they can do is get the other avengers on board.
This was my only complaint about Captain America. They chose to kill off what great chemistry they had with TOMMY LEE JONES and Peggy(her real name escapes me) all in the name of the AVENGERS movie.
I am not complaining because I want to see this movie but I think they killed off possibly great sequels with great characters all for this movie.
The writers of Captain America have already stated they are going to do a Cap sequel thats still back in WW2 so those characters will be back for sure.
Going with Rabitt’s Logic:
I don’t see how they can do a sequel now because they established (very clearly) that once Cap was signed on for active duty (after the whole Captain America tour performance) he was assigned to destroy all the Hydra bases. At the end of that mission he got rid of Red Skull, his plane crashed, and he was woken up in the present (to join the Avengers). Unless they want to screw up all the continuity in the last film (which was a real good film) and piss off all the fans, the only way they can do a sequel in WW2 is to focus more on the Hydra missions that he went on, in which case they would have to come up with a really great storyline, with a formidable villain nonetheless. And any hope of developing Cap’s and Peggy’s romance died with the first movie because they hadn’t even been on a first date when his plane crashed. So, maybe they should just focus on Cap in the present and try a new storyline after the Avengers.

Combine that with the bland lighting on display (which I hope will be at least graded to look better), and it looks like this flick is going to be wearing its ‘Directed by a TV Guy’ badge proudly.

I’ve literally been waiting at least five years for this movie to come out. Captain America, and Thor were both very successful and did Marvel some justice for once. Hopefully this movie will do the same. Spider-man looks terrible but this looks awesome!! Personally don’t love Cap’s suit, wish they would’ve made it look more original but that won’t ruin the movie. Can’t wait to see Hawkeye in action ever since his cameo in thor, and i also personally think Mark Ruffalo will do the Hulk some justice. I heard Stan lee himself will have a cameo in the avengers so cant to see that. Looking forward to seeing The Avengers, Dark Knight Rises, and Superman: Man of Steel battle it out for the best movie of the year and see which makes more money at the box office.
It would be great if they have a pre-credits mini-adventure opening sequence like with the James Bond movies to ground the movie in reality with the Avengers and the rebels in Libya fighting Colonel Muammar Gaddafi’s forces or the Avengers and the police in England fighting the rioters.
