Marvel has released a new banner for The Avengers.  The banner is really just a collection of four character posters, so it will probably be split up at some point.  It’s neat to see Mark Ruffalo starting to go a little Hulk, but I’m not sure why Captain America’s new helmet is so shiny.  However, I do like that he can throw his shield and check for B.O. at the same time.  Every superhero needs to be able to multitask.

Hit the jump to check out the larger version of the banner.  The film also stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Samuel L. Jackson, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, and Cobie SmuldersThe Avengers opens in 3D on May 4, 2012. [Update: We've added another banner showcasing Nick Fury (Jackson), Loki (Hiddleston), Hawkeye (Renner), and Black Widow (Johansson)]

  1. Everyone is turned to face the camera in about the same way…..except for Scarlett. Gotta show off that booty!!! How dare she!

  2. these are pretty dumb, iron man looks like someone photoshopped downey’s face into a concept drawing of the new suit, ruffalo just looks sick, and im pretty sure there was a poster for iron man 2 that was almost exactly the same as the black widow one

  3. I don’t have high hopes for this film (I know, I know, I’m in the minority), but I certainly hope those Marvel d-bags keep with the trend of recasting the Hulk with every movie.

    • I don’t see how you could have high hopes for this movie. It looks like a mashup of all of the Marvel movies that have come out over the couple years. A real Avengers movie wouldn’t be a mashup. This movie will be about reminding the audience, “Hey, remember that time we dressed a guy up like Thor and had him fight some stuff and Natalie Portman was in it? And who could forget the time Iron Man kissed Pepper Potts. And were you there when we reminded you that Samuel L. Jackson was being paid to hang around? No? Well, we’ll give him an arc! You’ll love it!”

      • …yeeaahh…no, sorry, you’re just wrong. And i’m sure the 10 million people who checked out the trailer the first day it was released will disagree with you

    • Damn, I just logged in to say that same thing! He is a double for Garth Marenghi’s Darkplace cover.

      Google it peeps! Hilarious!

  4. Finally, I knew there was something good out there. I think Marvel finally understands what good character posters really are.

  5. I don’t understand why they won’t just put The Hulk on the posters already. We’re not seeing this movie to watch Ruffalo play Bruce Banner. We’re watching to see him as The Hulk!

    • Would rather wait and be surprised by something in the movie! Whats the point in going if we’ve seen too much with set photo’s and the inevitable spoilerish trailers.
      Save Hulk for best.

  6. When will people realise that Scarlet J is a big pudding, all of her shots are airbrushed to shit because she gets stuck into the doughnuts. The actual reason she is called black widow is because in SJ’s case she, like the spider, eats her mate. Then has a few pies to finish off…

As for the movie, if it’s as good as Thor I will be happy.

If it’s anything like that crap shoot of a movie Captain America then god help us… coz that was about as bad as it gets.
