The Licensing International Expo begins tomorrow, but a promo poster for The Avengers has already hit the web.  We got our first look at a promo poster featuring the logo a couple of weeks ago, but this one features the actual Avengers in full costume. While the poster is a drawing instead of a photo, we still get a feel for the costumes, and I’m liking the direction they’re going with Hawkeye.

Hit the jump to check out the poster yourself. The Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy Renner, Mark Ruffalo, Cobie Smulders, Scarlett Johansson, Clark Gregg, and Samuel L. Jackson.  The film opens in 3D on May 4, 2012.

Here’s the poster (via The Daily Blam).

For more promo images from the Licensing show, we’ve also got The Amazing Spider Man, Men in Black III, The Pirates! Band of Misfits, The Dark Knight Rises, Hotel Transylvania and logos for Hugo Cabret, The Adventures of Tintin, Footloose, Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, Star Trek 2, and G.I. Joe 2 here.

Update: We’ve just added promo posters for The Hobbit, The Hunger Games, Battleship, The Three Stooges, The Lorax, 47 Ronin, The Croods, The Bourne Legacy, Rise of the Guardians, Stretch Armstrong, RIPD, Fast & Furious 6, and How to Train Your Dragon 2.

  1. I’m a little dissapointed by this poster. It looks like all of the Marvel products for little kids’ school supplies.

    • It’s just a poster for licensing companies to let them know the films coming. It’s not going to be released to the public.

  2. The fanboy in me would like to see Barton in full Hawkeye gear, but being with S.H.I.E.L.D. is a pass to throw him in all black like the Widow. Hopefully not as tight as hers though.

    • Seem to me Widow and Hawkeye should of been saved for Iron Man 3, and Ant Man and Wasp should of been in this. As it stands, were stuck with a Hawkeye who looks like Jeremy Renner and a Black Widow who isnt russian and can’t act.

  3. This looks like it would be eventually slapped on those toy packages for the movie. hahaha:P
But still, this is the closest we can get so far in seeing these guys in costume as we can clearly see that Thor and Hawkeye here is clearly Chris Hemsworth and Jeremy Renner respectively (forget about cap, he doesn’t look a bit like chris evans here.)

  4. The poster also shows us something else. Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk. He was supposed to be doing motion capture for the Hulk in the movie, which means that face is likely the Hulkified likeness of Ruffalo that we’ll see in the movie.

    • I think most people who see that are going to wndeor what “Assemble 2012″ is about and what the title means. Kind of odd to show a portion of the A from the Avengers logo when only fans of the comic book are likely to know what is being teased.

    • sorry about my earlier post…. im just a little upset. My hermaphrodite partner broke up with me this morning. Ill miss its dominate manner, and its glorious blend of man and woman.

    • I have since mended our broken relationship, and i would like to post this heart felt post by way of apology to my hermaphrodite partner, Celeste, formely called Bob.

Celeste, all I need is to wrap my arms around you, while your intoxicating elixir seeps into my heart.

Your momentary slumber is my silent romance, but awaiting your alluring gaze is a journey of yearning torment. As your sun-kissed cheeks are painted with a strawberry mocha blush, the silk of your skin is accentuated with the illumination of nightfall, while the hypnotic look in your dreamy eyes finds its reflection. They glisten to reveal an ocean of starry twilight, and a nocturnal realm of existence unfolds.

Dancing into the night with an aura of vibrancy surrounding your trajes de faraleas, I watch on with envy as the lunar embrace enfolds your elegance. It saddens me that I may never join your dance, for my limitations hinder our melodic waltz. I look upon the shores of the glimmering abyss and wonder if you’ll ever be mine. I wonder if you might give me a chance at winning your heart.

It is then that you reach for my face, setting me free at last. You take my hands to interlock our fingers, while our eyes meet once more. Within their distance defining this moment of us, I realize the truth. Surrender will always remain to be mine, for my worries subside in your presence, and letting them go isn’t impossible anymore.

And in you, I’ve discovered the reflections of romance as your crimson lips become luminescent to the celestial glow of moonlight. They’re a reminder that love is more than just a voyage, but the pathway towards a destination of hope, in us.

Tonight is ours, my darling muñequita. As your honey-glazed lips rest upon mine, the soft plunge of your margarita kiss seduces me to understand that the art of romance is a never-ending odyssey to learn to love you more. Romance is to love every part of you, individually and completely.

Dear Heather, I’ve always wanted to be with a tall or aggressive short girl so she could save me from the spiders and monsters, but your feisty nature is everything I could ever ask for. Though you might think I only want to marry you for protection, it really isn’t so.

My dear love forever, your emotion’s graceful flow, from passionate anger to endearing cares, is what makes me want to be your teddy bear forever.

      • Whoever my imposter is some words of advice. 1) You put too much thought into this which means this is the life you live and 2) Kill urself you hermaphodite loving fuck!!!

  5. Are we sure this is legit?
Does the Cap usually use his shield with his right hand and Thor use his hammer with his left? If Thor’s meant to be flying why isn’t he holding the hammer sideways not away as he does in the movie? And as has been pointed out above why is Iron Man’s chest piece circular again? Looks like fan art to me.

  6. That is an updated Cap costume. The upcoming 40′s version has quite a bit of differences (such as the mega-suspenders.)

    • This is going to be awesome, can’t wait for this to come out. And they did it right too, start it from the very begnining. Are you getting any promotional tickets? It would be awesome to give one away to a loyal ready / commenter like myself. HAHA.

  7. Why do I get the feeling this is way too many characters to focus on. Sorry I just get a x-men 3/origins vibe from this. I hope I’m wrong but Iron Man 2 was terrible and if that’s the tone of these movies then we’re in trouble. And don’t try to argue how good Iron Man 2 was because it was a shallow/soulless experience compared to the first. I almost left the theater with boredom.

    • @ Scared

No need to worry about the number of characters. Each installment of Lord of the Rings had more characters than Avengers, and that turned-out just fine.

  8. LOOKS LIKE A PROMO FOR MERCHANDISING PURPOSES…
I THINK THE MOVIE WILL DO WELL. FANBOYS WILL COME OUT IN MASSES

AND I AGREE WITH THE GUY WHO SAID SCARLET CANT ACT…. I WOULD HAVE GONE WITH OLGA KURYLENKO OR SOME ONE ALONG THOSE LINES

  9. I’m not feeling this poster. The leader of the avengers is Capitan America, not Ironman. I don’t care if RDJ is the most famous actor, get the story right.

  10. really hoping they pull this one off as well as they did Captain and Thor. I was orrwied those films would be too cheesy, those charachters too old school, but they did well. And, Joss Whedon is brilliant, so, it’s looking good.
