  • Alex–

Scarlett doesn’t look in the least threatening or dangerous. Such bad casting.

    • Jorge

So true, I think Whedon got stuck with her because Jon Faverau casted her in Iron Man 2. But nonetheless in the Avengers trailer when the camera is circling everyone and they all look baddass, Scarlett Johansson looks completely nonthreatening while loading her glock. Just lame. But hopefully I am wrong about her and her character in THIS movie.

      • mee

seriously? yeah, her character was underdeveloped and poorly written in iron man 2, but scarlett was BADASS in the role. her shitty lines were not her fault. the scene where she busted through all the guards near the end was probably the best scene of iron man 2.

      • hesan1gga

        shutup you spic.

      • Jason W.

Really man? You took the time out of your day just to call someone a name on a movie website? Stay busy brother.

      • noodles

        not cool, hesan1gga…..

    • spongefist

She threatens the cake counter alot

    • Ryder

Um well she’s not really supposed to be? She’s an agent with very little power, your eyes or critiques should not be put on her alone and she’s a fine Black Widow

  • Ryan

Well I downloaded that trailer and played it on my TV for my best friend and I. he laughed so hard after enjoying the start of the trailer. he looked at me and said “WTF is that little handgun going to do up against these aliens? She’s got no superpowers so she should get an assault rifle”

    • Phoenix

How is having a handgun worse than having a bow and arrow? The amount of time it would take to string an arrow, fire and then restring would leave you defenseless for long periods of time.

Plus in the German trailer, we saw that Black Widow uses those discs that immobilizes the enemy by electrocuting them (as seen in Iron Man 2), so she has at least that in addition to the handguns.

  • mee

seriously? yeah, her character was underdeveloped and poorly written, but that’s not scarlett’s fault. she was BADASS in the role. the scene where she took out all the guards was one of the best scenes of iron man 2. i’m very excited to see her in the avengers.

    • mee

sorry, this was a reply to ‘jorge’

    • João Paulo

I agree. Scarlett is really badass and hot too.

  • Liam_H

They should just stop releasing posters now because they all look pretty horrible. This is this the same guy who photoshopped the other poster.

The poster art for this film has been atrocious.

  • Michael

Scarlett is just fine in the role. Suitably intense. I’m hoping that they don’t try and make her more of a ‘lead’ than in Iron Man. Black Widow is pretty secondary, and that’s what makes casting an A-list actress in the part pretty cool.

The posters are… well… I just want to grab the marketing department and just shout in their faces, “STOP IT! Yes, it’s a comic book adaptation. we GET it. Please just stop. We’re looking forward to it. You’re wasting your money! And by the way, this guy is CRAP at creating the posters!”

I found another of the posters that had been released.
It is only 1 more but still it is better than none.

I’m just mad she has NO accent! it’s as bad as Baroness not having an accent in the G.I.Joe movie. It doesn’t have to be heavy but it should be there. Or at least have here speak in some Russian briefly.

  • AlexHeyNa

    God damn Thor’s hammer…

  • Ash Talon

Scarlet is just bad casting. I don’t hate her, but she’s just not a very good actress. She tend to be rather bland.

I wish they had cast Olga Kurylenko. She’s got the accent. She’s got the right, athletic body. And she’s honestly a better actress.

But they had to go for an American “name” actress. To play the Russian character. Who conveniently is no longer Russian.

  • Lizard King

As much as I think the movie will be fantastic, I really can’t stand any of the posters they have released. All of them look like bad fan art. It’s a shame I won’t be able to buy a poster for a movie that I really want to support.

  • gph-artist

The posters really are awful seemingly cobbled together from a mix of unrelated images with no concern over lighting inconsistencies or continuity.

Check out the Hulk/Hawkeye poster… Hawkeye is holding the bow with his right hand. The Cap/Hawkeye poster has the bow in the left hand. The creator simply flipped a Hawkeye image to jibe with Hulk, so Hawkeye is a mirror image of how he looks otherwise. Beyond that they’re both lit from unrelated sources. Sloppy.

What does someone get paid to so this bad a job?

    Geez these are really bad.

    • Ryder

      Then make better ones.

  • Oldfriend

look for more about real Scarlett by typing Scarlett Johansson clone in Google search bar and you would see much more then in The Island movie..

  • Epic

Im already greatful for the fact that they’re making a movie about the comics i use to read back in the day.For all the marvel movies that came out since spiderman,i’ve seen that they stayed true to the comics, like mixing humor with action and with a little bit drama.Exactly like the books! Nothing serious.Like the comic books, these movies are made for kids, for the family and for those who ever imagined all the heroes coming to life.So i’m not surprised they made these posters like they accually came from a comic front cover.Unlike the batman trilogy, which is aimed for a more wider audience, the avangers will most likely be like all the other marvel movies…playfully awesome(eyecandy for the marvel fans)

    • chrissy

Thank you, I agree! I actually liked these posters though they could stand a few “tweakings”. Like I would want the Nick Fury one (come on it’s sammy j! lol) but I think it looks awkward straight on, like his face looks weird :/ Anyone know what I mean?

I’m looking forward to this movie mainly for Scarlett Johansson. The only movies I liked were Iron man, and Iron man 2. Both Hulk movies sucked, and Captain America didn’t have enough action. I haven’t even bothered watching Thor because the previews were awful.
