    nice professor farnsworth reference

This is great and all, but it’d be even greater if it were the extended cut. Over half an hour of deleted scenes would have people lining back up.

    …also, “It’s a suppository!”

I finally saw it. It was funny, but pretty disappointing. I love the characters and don’t mind mindless action, but it was too corny and that whole action sequence towards the end of the 2nd act was very similar to the one in Transformers 3.

      wow. slap yourself

      • sccitylhh

He has a point. I mildly enjoyed the film and while I wouldn’t go so far as to call it disappointing, it didn’t demand very much of its audience. Iron Man is still the best overall Marvel film, in my opinion.

No information for re-releases in Canada, bummer.

    • idleprimate

i live in ottawa, and it hasn’t left theatres yet, so it doesn’t require a re-release.

  • CamdenHey

LOL, it hasn’t stopped playing at my local theater where I saw the film back in May.

I know this is a soulless exercise in milking some more dollars out of a cash cow but…I’ll probably go see it. My excuse is that my wife regretted not seeing it on the big screen.

  • samatwitch

Brian, check out smaller Cineplex theatres. I know it’s at one in Vancouver.

    • curlywench

Where are you finding this? Because I can’t seem to find anything on which theatres it’s showing at all, not even the Vancouver one.

    • curlywench

Where did you find that out? I can’t find any information at all on which theatres will be showing this.

I thought a movie had to leave theaters for it to be a big deal when it returns to the silver screen? THE AVENGERS is still playing at least once or twice a day in about 4 theaters within driving distance of my house.
Really the only reason this “re-release” is happening is cause Marvel is REALLY jonesing to overcome ‘Titanic’ & take the #2 spot on the highest Domestic Grossing films list. They’re only about $41 million from doing just that (in fact if it wasn’t for Cameron’s 3D re-release of ‘Titanic’ earlier this year ‘Avengers’ would already hold the #2 spot).
Now that I think about it I almost kinda hope they do. No one has overcome James Cameron since 1997. Someone has to do it. Might as well be the Marvel Cash Cow.
