I just cannot wait until everyone’s running around saying, “Ba-ba dook, dook, dook.”  (In Mister Babadook voice, of course.)  Jennifer Kent’s feature directorial debut is making its way towards a November 28th release and IFC Midnight is paving the way with some must-see promo material.  The film’s most recent trailer rocks a wicked build and now this brand new clip manages to make your skin crawl via one actor, one shot and zero action.

The Babadook stars Essie Davis as a single mother named Amelia.  Not only is she still having a tough time coping with the loss of her husband, but she also can’t get a good night sleep thanks to her son’s fear that there’s a monster lurking in their house.  Amelia brushes it off as best she can, but when a book called Mister Babadook just happens to appear in her son’s room, she starts to wonder if there really is a bogeyman in their home.  Hit the jump to check out the new The Babadook clip.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Babadook:

Six years after the violent death of her husband, Amelia (Essie Davis) is at a loss. She struggles to discipline her ‘out of control’ 6 year-old, Samuel (Noah Wiseman), a son she finds impossible to love. Samuel’s dreams are plagued by a monster he believes is coming to kill them both.

When a disturbing storybook called ‘The Babadook’ turns up at their house, Samuel is convinced that the Babadook is the creature he’s been dreaming about. His hallucinations spiral out of control, he becomes more unpredictable and violent. Amelia, genuinely frightened by her son’s behaviour, is forced to medicate him.

But when Amelia begins to see glimpses of a sinister presence all around her, it slowly dawns on her that the thing Samuel has been warning her about may be real.
