The first trailer is now available for The Case Against 8, the new HBO Documentary Films production from writers-directors Ben Cotner and Ryan White that follows the emotional journey and legal battle to overturn California’s Proposition 8. The legislation, which banned same-sex marriages in the state, was challenged by the unlikely legal team of Ted Olson and David Boies, who had previously argued against each other in “Bush vs. Gore.” While the struggle for same-sex marriage rights continues across the country and across the world, this landmark case and the documentary that explores it aims to inspire millions to keep up the fight.
