Today, TNT announced that the forthcoming seventh season of their hit drama The Closer would be the last. Apparently the decision came from the series’ star Kyra Sedgwick and she’s quite aware how difficult it will be to finish the the show next year. The actress says, “I cannot fathom how difficult it will be to say goodbye to the incredible family we’ve created on The Closer.” Series creator James Duff also comments, “It’s impossible to fully express our appreciation to Kyra Sedgwick, series creator James Duff and all of the other talented people who brought The Closer to TNT viewers.” The series will hit its 100th episode in 2011 during its 15-episode run which begins in the spring. There’s still a few episodes left in the sixth season, so fans have some time to let the news sink in before the final season starts. Anyone disappointed?
