New Posters for THE CONJURING, PLANES, and EPIC

New posters for a few upcoming films have made their way online.  Briefly:

  • The Conjuring – The first poster for director James Wan’s insanely creepy-looking horror film teases the fact that the story is based on true events.  The film stars Vera Farmiga, Patrick Wilson, and Lili Taylor and opens on July 19th.
  • Planes – The debut poster for Disney’s Cars spinoff teases the many anthropomorphized aerial vehicles that will be featured in the film.  The voice cast includes Dane Cook, Val Kilmer, and Anthony Edwards and opens in 3D on August 9th.
  • Epic – A new batch of character posters for the upcoming animated film introduces the colorful cast of characters.  The film features the voices of Amanda Seyfried, Christoph Waltz, and Aziz Ansari and opens in 3D on May 24th.

Here’s the synopsis for The Conjuring:

Before there was Amityville, there was Harrisville. “The Conjuring” tells the true story of Ed and Lorraine Warren (Patrick Wilson, Vera Farmiga), world renowned paranormal investigators, who were called to help a family terrorized by a dark presence in a secluded farmhouse. Forced to confront a powerful demonic entity, the Warrens find themselves caught in the most horrifying case of their lives.

Here’s the synopsis for Planes:

Inspired by the world of “Cars” and directed by Disneytoon Studios veteran and aviation enthusiast Klay Hall (“King of the Hill,” “The Simpsons”), “Disney’s Planes” is an action-packed 3D animated comedy adventure about Dusty’s dream of competing as a high-flying air racer—and his decidedly unfortunate fear of heights. The film takes off in theaters in 3D on Aug. 9, 2013.
