THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Advance Movie Tickets Including IMAX Now On Sale

     June 11, 2012

Advance tickets for director Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises are now on sale.  Opening night tickets will disappear quickly, with IMAX tickets being the first to go, owing to the relatively limited number of seats.  You’re going to want to see the epic conclusion to the Batman trilogy in IMAX since a full hour of it was filmed in that format.  There are only so many theaters showing it in IMAX, so get your tickets while you can (and we recommend finding a theater with reserved seating to prevent any midnight nastiness).  Click here to buy or hit the jump for more.

Are they not being sold in Canada yet? I have been checking three different sites (fandango,, and my local theater) for the past half hour and nothing has shown up. :(

    • jay vincent

its selling on its filling up fast!

  • AlexHeyNa

Can’t buy the IMAX at AMC yet. They’re waiting for it to get approved, because they want to have the trilogy in IMAX. You would think this is something they would have worked out BEFORE tickets went on sale. I mean they had three weeks notice. AMC’s management is quite poor.

    • Nell

You’re right, so instead, I bought mine for the morning of in IMAX at AMC. Don’t want the first time I see the movie to be in standard 35 mm, which are the only current midnight shows. So just in case the midnight IMAX issue isn’t resolved, I’ll be there a couple of hours later.

      • AlexHeyNa

I don’t know if I’d be able to wait a few hours. I bought tickets for 35mm. I’ll just see it in IMAX the second time I see it. That way, the second time I see it, there’ll be something new to look forward to.

AMC theaters are still figuring out which locations will be showing the film, and the trilogy, in IMAX. Hopefully they will post the locations soon

  • Bryan

Hey you should write a story about Cinemark Theater Making you pay 30 dollars to see it in there XD Theater!!!! Not pleased at all.

  • David

BOOM…will be at midnight in Chicago…

    • Donovan McLean

      Good I was worried.

  • Ryan

It was almost a disaster trying to get IMAX tix for a Universal City Friday night screening. Every link I clicked said “Sorry, your order could not be processed” but with enough clicks I got them.

Did AMC sabotage Fandango’s site so as to discourage some people so their servers wouldn’t melt? Methinks they talked to the Comic-Con people who made people “cut and paste” the link for it to work…

I had the same problem. Nearly went into cardiac arrest.

I kept refreshing the page only to see seats being filled up. Luckily I got the ones I wanted.

Almost went on a shooting spree.

  • Christian

After half an hour of refreshing it finally showed up. I got my tickets for the biggest screen in Florida!!!

  • RIC

Landed 4. Thank God. Now I won’t have to fight through 3 whole days of people asking me how good it was and avoiding spoilers like I did with TDK.

Got my IMAX tickets as soon as the theater put them on sale, cannot wait. I expect The Avenger’s Box Office Record will no longer stand come Monday July 23rd.

  • utzworld

Rave Cinemas didn’t even load their showtimes for their LA IMAX location till about 10:30/10:45 AM PST. Got tix for Friday AND Saturday IMAX. Don’t know if it’ll conquer “Avengers” opening weekend record – since those numbers had help from 3D upcharges left and right.

  • Chris

Got my tix! Now I’m gonna eat some pizza hut bread stix!

  • James

Just got my Tickets for Friday night at Emagine!!! Its not Imax, but Im still excited as hell! Reserved seating also so I don’t have to show up at the theater 4 hours early! lol…

  • Tim

I can’t afford to go to the movies so I will probably wait for it to come to redbox.

    • saavy pistola

Maybe you can try to save up and go to a matinee showing, they are usually $5 – $6 bucks before 12pm. Better than $10 – $11 and you won’t have to wait months till it’s out on dvd. :]
