New Poster for THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Warns of a Rising Fire

     May 21, 2012

A new poster for The Dark Knight Rises has gone online, and it’s considerably more colorful than the previous posters we’ve seen for the concluding chapter in Christopher Nolan’s Batman series.  Granted, the color comes from the fire of a burning and collapsing building, but it’s at least different enough from the black and white/greyscale of the previous one-sheets.  I’m assuming this is the final poster for the film, but I could very well be wrong.  I’m a bit more partial to the Batman/Bane standoff poster, but this “fire” poster isn’t terrible.

Hit the jump to check out the poster.  The film stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, and Joseph Gordon-LevittThe Dark Knight Rises opens on July 20th.

Be sure to check out the six character posters for the film that were recently released.

For comparison, here’s the first poster that was released for the film.  Could Nolan and Co. be trying to tell us something, or are they just playing on the “burning batsignal” motif from The Dark Knight again?  Or, as Matt Goldberg points out, is Batman just really bad at noticing destruction behind him?

Here are links to our recent coverage of the film:

The final poster? Far from it. Clearly you don’t know Warner Bros…

  • oprahnoodlemantra

I remember there being a whole shit ton of posters for BB and TDK. I’m sure this is not the last one. Anyway, it’s pretty awesome.

  • Albert Runcorn

Pretty sure this is a fan poster… If not, it sucks

    • Dave

It’s from the official Facebook page… and YOU suck

    • Matt

agreed, it does look like a fan made poster. have learned from many movies recently to not judge based on the poster.

      • SP1234

It has to be a fake. It looks as though they took the hero shot of Dark Knight and placed it on a colored version of the teaser. Agree about the poster judging. X-Men: First Class had criticized posters but the movie was terrific.

      • dogg

Putting “The Dark Knight Rises” right under “A fire will rise” is redundant and amateur. This reeks of fan made. Probably the studio’s social media guy thought it was bitchin and threw it up there.

  • Carlos

    that looks incredibly cheap

  • Angel of Death

Wow. What’s with the Photoshop hack jobs?

my classmate’s step-aunt makes $83/hour on the laptop. She has been laid off for 7 months but last month her pay check was $19426 just working on the laptop for a few hours. Here’s the site to read more CashLazy.*com

  • HorrorBiz

Yeah, I’m excited for this movie and all but I gotta admit that this poster looks fan made. The first two posters were awesome, so this is a bit of a letdown. But hopefully there are some more to come.

  • Andrew

unoriginal poster, and the fans deserve a lot better than this amateur looking nonsense for Nolan’s last Batman film.

  • Strong Enough

what? the internet is full of complainers?

    thats new!

enjoy the damn poster you sickos

    • Griz

      Make us!

      • Taylor

        TROLL ALERT!

  • ben

Also very shocked at the crap quality of the poster. It’s very clearly the same greyscale poster with color manipulation and batman very poorly ‘shopped in. Just look at the blur/shaping around the bat ears on the mask – to remove the ears from the bat signal in the lower greyscale version.

Like someone else said on here, if they kill batman (gut tells me that’s more and more likely), gooooood luck on weekend 2.

  • lame duck

This is not the poster we deserve but the poster we need right now…

    • Titus

  • Yahzee

I might be wrong, but I think they thought about putting the color palette of Batman Begins, the Batman pose of The Dark Knight and the falling building from the first teaser poster as a way to connect the trilogy…

But the design looks pretty amateur anyway…

  • Joe

The Avengers really spoiled everyone with promo materials every other day. Not to mention all their featurettes.

TDKR by comparison pales but its not a bad thing because as fan of the trilogy I look forward to suspense.

But yeah, what else can they promote really?
    Bane’s mask

The movie isn’t about gimmicks. It’s about a strong plot and characters you care about. That said, I loved the Avengers.
    Bring on Batman!

  • Twojawas

More interesting is that the jawline looks more like Gordon-Levitt’s than it does Bale’s.

    • Mikey Filmz

Its been confirmed from a friend i know thats working on the production, he told me that is in fact Joseph Gordon Levitt in the costume. A Final Nolan Easter Egg just like the first teaser poster with all the hints and clues hidden inside. Bruce gets seriously hurt and JGL Rises lol :P

      • Jamesy

Whats this friends name who’s “working on the production”? Brad Bullsh*t by any chance?

      • Mikey Filmz

His name is Eddie, Eddie Folcarelli, look him up if you don’t believe me. He’s been involved with this film as well as a few others since about 2006

      • yeti murphy

looked him up on imdb. says he worked on the dark knight, nothing about the dark knight rises. no one believes you, and we all know that even if jgl were to become batman at some point in this film, that would be considered a major spoiler, and Warner Bros would be very careful as to not let that become public knowledge before the release date. so good job dude, thank your friend that you dont have, who didnt work on the movie, for helping everyone on the internet think you’re cool.

  • Madhatter

Did anyone else notice at the end of the newest trailer when the Bat Wing takes off from the roof, it fires two missiles?

    • Phoenix

The Batwing (or The Bat as it’s called in the film) doesn’t fire two missiles but instead is escaping from the missiles that are on its tail.

  • zamora

as Norma implied I am amazed that some people able to make $4245 in 4 weeks on the internet. did you look at this web site makecash16.cøm
