Set Photos From THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Reveal Rebuilt Wayne Manor

by     Posted 3 years, 64 days ago

Some new set photos from The Dark Knight Rises have hit the web giving us our first look at the rebuilt Wayne Manor. As you recall, Batman’s house went all up in flames in Batman Begins, then he worked out of an underground command center in The Dark Knight, so it looks like he’ll finally be getting a decent home in Rises. The photos also reveal a graveyard that was built adjacent to Wollaton Hall in England, which is standing in for Wayne Manor. Will we finally be seeing Bruce Wayne visit his parents’ grave?

Hit the jump to check out the images. The Dark Knight Rises stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard, Matthew Modine, Josh Pence, Brett Cullen, Juno Temple, Nestor Carbonell, Tom Conti, Joey King, Chris Elli, Josh Stewart, Daniel Sunjata, Diego Klattenhoff and Burn Gorman. The film hits theaters on July 20th, 2012.

I hope we see Bruce visit his parents’ grave. That would be an important, iconic scene.

    • Nick Reynolds

Especially since there was no mention of them in the second one.

  • Mickey Mouse

Yeah and let’s not forget Cillain Murphy as The Scarecrow, The rest of the crew from the first two Dark Knight films as well as Liam Neeson reprising his Batman Begins role and not a different character he’s playing right now, will Val Kilmer ever make a cameo or not, stay tooned knuckleheads.

But who played the best BRUCE WAYNE?
Any square-jawwed goof can play the Dark Knight (remember those OnStar ads?), the real trick is to play a convincing Bruce.

ANOTHER spoiler in the goddamn headline! I’m done with you, Collider.
You get scoops, but your writers and ethics (with the exception of Jason) suck.

    • Ruprect

The last couple of lines between Bruce and Alfred in Returns indicated that the mansion was getting rebuilt. Not much of a spoiler there.

(Of course, you are not here to see this, are you? I think that you are still lurking and you ARE seeing this though. It’s a shame that if you respond you will be forever labelled as an EmoRageQuitter as well as a HUGE hypocrite. )

      • Ruprect

I meant Begins, of course, not Returns.

Because knowing Wayne Manor has been rebuilt (as was said in ‘Begins’) gives away the entire plot of TDKR. Obviously.

that would be fantastic if at the end of the credits if val kilmer, george clooney, and michael keaton all showed up at the very end to shake christian bales hand to say a job well done with the new franchise under c.nolan……….

    • Ruprect

      Too meta.
Kind of like when Tina Turner showed up at the end of her bio-pic. That made the previous two hours or so worthless for me.

      • Ruprect

However ….. if there were a scene after the credits of Nolan confronting Schumacher (sp?) and yelling “THAT’S how it is done, you frivilous twat!” and then kicking him in the balls …. I would approve.

    • Chief O Hara

Would rather see the great ADAM WEST make an appearance. Maybe as retired police CHIEF O HARA, (a main character from the 60s show that never showed up in any movie.) But made an epic emotional appearance in The Long Halloween/Dark Victory novels.

Or maybe he could be Thomas Wayne in a flashback scene

  • Jetpackman89

How do we know these aren’t set photos from Batman Begins? I mean that happened with Arkham photos a couple months back..

I think future Batman films will be co-produced by Nolan (in fact, I could see it as being Batman Beyond, where Bale is the older BW). He said he wouldn’t rule out returning so who knows? I thought Val Kilmer was a pretty bland Wayne whereas Keaton was a badass Batman. Bale does a great job with both roles IMHO.

I have no idea why the people above are talking and arguing about past ‘batmen’ making special cameos in this movie:P
anyway… I know Wayne Manor would be rebuilt in this one so I’m not really surprised. Question is if this one is the EXACT same building they used in begins. I personally can’t wait to see how the “refurbished” Bat Cave would look like in Nolan’s Bat-verse:D

    • Marco Polo

Nope the first stately Wayne manor was Mentmore Towers, this is Wollaton Hall. The actual history of the two is the builder of the second mansion built his inspired by the other, so they really do resemble each other “brick by brick.”

a nice touch could also see adam west taking directing duties away from “c.nolan’ and really turning the franchise on its head…….at least when they reboot…….but i would like to see what adam west could do with the directing a blockbuster
