Written and directed by Jim Jarmusch, The Dead Don't Die is the closest thing I think I've seen to Shaun of the Dead since, well, Shaun of the Dead. There's no official synopsis to accompany Jarmusch's zom-com, but he has certainly assembled one hell of a cast for what looks like a muted -- but still very viscerally gory -- take on the genre.

Bill Murray and Adam Driver star as two cops who are tasked with addressing this new zombie threat, as people don't seem to panic so much as regard the whole thing with some dazed confusion (which feels very right). Also, there's Tilda Swinton with a deep Scottish brogue wielding a katana. Iggy Pop is a zombie. It all looks positively weird and wonderful. (And, we assume, real ... even though it is April 1st, is this movie just too good to be true? Is this an elaborate prank to make us believe in the possibility of this film with it then being taken away? Say it ain't so, Jarmusch!)

Billed as "the greatest zombie cast ever disassembled," the film also stars Chloë Sevigny, Steve Buscemi, Danny Glover, Caleb Landry Jones, Rosie Perez, Sara Driver, RZA, Selena Gomez, Carol Kane, Austin Butler, Luka Sabbat and Tom Waits. Check out the trailer, as well as the newly released poster, below. The Dead Don't Die is set to hit theaters June 14th:
