The first The Driftless Area image from director Zachary Sluser‘s unconventional romance film has been released. Based on the Tom Drury novel of the same name, the pic tells the story of the young love between a bartender (Anton Yelchin) and a mysterious woman (Zooey Deschanel) that becomes threatened when the bartender gets mixed up with a dangerous crook and a bag of stolen cash. This first image gives us a look at the two leads looking intently into each other’s eyes, and THR adds that Parks and Recreation star Aubrey Plaza has also been added to the cast. Production is currently underway in Vancouver.
