Opening this weekend is director Josh Boone’s The Fault in Our Stars.  The adaptation of the John Green novel centers on the relationship between two teenagers (Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort) who meet at a cancer support group and fall in love.  While I wasn't sure what to expect about the film going in, I attended a screening filled with press and die-hard fans and it was a powerful experience.  Not only did I share in the many tears that flowed from the entire audience, I started to understand why so many people are in love with the book and the characters.  Unlike a sappy, cliche portrait of “cancer love”, the movie is a realistic portrayal of young romance between two people with a unique outlook on life.  It’s a great film with fantastic performances, and it’s going to be a big hit at the box office.  The Fault in Our Stars also stars Willem DafoeNat WolffLaura DernSam TrammellMike Birbiglia, and Emily Peachey.  For more on the film, watch the extended trailer or these 20 minutes of behind-the-scenes footage.

At the New York City press junket, I landed an exclusive video interview with Shailene Woodley  and Ansel Elgort.  They talked about how they prepared for their roles, the book's popularity, the fan reaction after the screening, and more.  Hit the jump to watch.
