Warner Bros CEO Kevin Tsujihara has been announcing a slew of news regarding the studio's plans.  Among his announcements is the reveal that The Flash standalone movie is coming in 2018 and will star Ezra Miller (The Perks of Being a Wallflower).  This reveal firmly establishes that the DC Movie Universe will be completely separate from the DC TV Universe since the new CW series The Flash stars Grant Gustin as the Scarlet Speedster.  Additionally, this new Flash movie will come after Zack Snyder's Justice League Part One, which is due out in 2017.

It seems like Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is going out of its way to cram in superheroes since it contains not only the titular characters but also has Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot) and Aquaman (Jason Momoa).  There was speculation that co-star Scoot McNairy could be playing The Flash, but that's clearly not the case.  We should start accepting that Scoot McNairy can happen at any time.  As for Miller, if he's involved in Batman v Superman, they've done a great job keeping him under wraps.  Maybe they'll just add a red blur in post, although Variety believes he'll have a cameo in Batman v Superman.

Speaking of Miller, he's a fun choice.  At 22, he's significantly younger than his Justice League co-stars, but as he showed in Perks, he's also fun, charismatic, and charming.  And while I would be surprised if The Flash movie took a dark turn (or at least darker than the DC Movie Universe is already headed), Miller's performance in We Need to Talk about Kevin is disturbing as hell.

I don't follow The Flash comics, but I know there's more than one.  People who had donned the outfit include Jay Garrick, Barry Allen, Wally West, and Bart Allen (The Flash TV series uses Barry Allen).  Variety seems certain that Barry Allen will also be the Flash who's used for the movies.
