The Emmys played out in traditional “let’s give it to whoever won last year” fashion last night, and so now it’s time to turn our attention to the upcoming 2014-15 TV season that’s just around the corner.  The CW has released the very first The Flash poster for its anticipated series, which is of course based on the DC Comics character of the same name (who may also be getting the big screen treatment in 2016).  The show is a spinoff of sorts of The CW’s other popular superhero show, Arrow, as the two series will inhabit the same universe—in fact a crossover is already planned for Episode 8 of both shows’ upcoming seasons.  This debut poster certainly flaunts star Grant Gustin’s ability to move quickly while also offering keen-eyed fans more than a couple of Easter eggs.  How many can you spot?

Hit the jump to check out The Flash poster.  The show also stars Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Jesse L. Martin, Candice Patton, Tom Cavanagh, Rick Cosnett, and John Wesley Shipp with Robbie Amell, Wentworth Miller, and Clancy Brown poised for guest appearances.  The Flash premieres on The CW on October 7th at 8/7c.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Flash:

After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only “meta-human” who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion — and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won’t be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become …The Flash.

Kord! Bring on the Blue Beetle! Do it!

    • agent777

Hell yeah, the original Nite Owl and a damn fine Steve Ditko creation.

  • Zolly

Kord Enterprises (as in the blue beetle), AmerTek (as in Steel), Grodd Lives, Big belly burger and Queen Industries (arrow), Star Labs and maybe Wayne enterprises top left?

    • mike_thoms

      It’s something on that building top left but I dn’t think it’s a W.

    • Grayden

Maybe Stagg Industries. William Sadler was cast as Simon Stagg. Could be an abstract stag’s head. Who knows…

That seems like a convoluted path to take down the street.

  • Oliver Queen

All i see is Queen Consolidated and Big Belly Burger, i don’t wanna ruin my eyes even more haha! Also this isn’t the very first poster for The Flash, there have been many released already.

  • appolox

Where does it say Grodd lives?

    • dave

on the sidewalk next to that street sign even with the title

  • Grayden

What’s on the short brick wall to the left of ‘Flash’; opposite side of the street from the “Grodd Lives”?

  • theseeker7

okay but why in the world would he partially backtrack on the area he just ran across? Seems awfully counter-productive… lol

    • Jordan O’Hagan

considering he probably ran in that lightning pattern faster than you could take three steps…yeah, counter productive. What is it that people dont get about THE FLASH? Time isn’t a major concern when you’re the fastest man alive.

What is it that people don’t get about sarcasm?

      • Jordan O’Hagan

I dont see anything sarcastic about your post.

      • theseeker7

my good man, I was making a joke. That’s all. This is already far more attention than the idea deserves to have on it lol

  • i AN LEGEND

Who would run in that pattern?

    • ʝoe βloggs

Was thinking the exact same thing!

    • Max Rockatansky

I would run in any patterns if I was that fast. Any way it just a fucking poster design to show his lightning bolt logo so calm down and stop trying to be logical.

      • i AN LEGEND

Intro to sarcasm… easy there boy.
