The CW just revealed Barry Allen's (Grant Gustin) new The Flash Season 2 costume, and...it's not all that new. For the most part this suit is identical to season one's, but with one critical difference -- the red and gold lightning logo has been replaced with a red and white pattern (which eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed on Future Barry in Season 1). While the change may seem minor, the red-white color is much closer to DC's iconic emblem design, indicating a shift towards the character's comic books origins.

The new Season 2 suit is designed by Maya Manli, the same designer who created Arrow's new Season 4 costume, which CW revealed at Comic-Con, and is also creating the costumes for the Arrow-Flash spinoff series DC's Legends of Tomorrow. Of course, the most fun part of this subtle costume change isn't how the suit looks, but will be finding out what new gadgets and fortifications Cisco (Carlos Valdez) has brewed up in the S.T.A.R. labs. Aside from the emblem update, the lighting obscures any other minor switches that might be hiding in the new suit, so we'll just have to tune in when The Flash returns for Season 2 on October 6th to find out.
