the flash trailer

While The CW’s season two finale of Arrow is currently don’t-blink-or-you’ll-miss-it level intense, one of its commercial breaks features the first look at a hero who moves at an even faster pace.  The Flash is the latest DC hero to make an appearance on the small screen, and this early look at the new fall series gives us a sense of tone, possible interaction with the Starling City’s green guardian, and just how fast the title character really is.

The DC’s speedy superhero series stars Grant Gustin (Glee), Jesse L. Martin (Law & Order)Danielle Panabaker (Shark), Rick Cosnett (The Vampire Diaries), Candice Patton (The Game), Tom Cavanagh (Ed), John Wesley Shipp (the 90s The Flash), Carlos Valdes, guest star Patrick Sabongui, and recurring star Michelle Harrison (Emily Owens, MD).  Hit the jump to view the first The Flash trailer and a 5 minute extended trailer.

And here’s the new extended trailer:

ABOUT THE FLASH
After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only “meta-human” who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion — and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won’t be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become…The Flash.
