Hot on the heels of yesterday’s poster reveal, The CW has released a new trailer for The Flash, their new series based on the DC Comics character of the same name.  CW’s other superhero Arrow also makes  a brief appearance which makes sense given the fact that this is essentially a spinoff of that show.  The two series will actually crossover in Episode 8 of both shows’ upcoming seasons.  While we got a teaser a few weeks back, today's look at the show features a lot more footage.  I’m sort of underwhelmed by this trailer though.  While it has some impressive production value, it also feels rote and generic.

But make up your own mind! Hit the jump to check out The Flash trailer.  The show stars Grant Gustin, Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Jesse L. Martin, Candice Patton, Tom Cavanagh, Rick Cosnett, and John Wesley Shipp with Robbie Amell, Wentworth Miller, and Clancy Brown poised for guest appearances.  The Flash premieres on The CW on October 7th at 8/7c.

Here’s the official synopsis for The Flash:

After a particle accelerator causes a freak storm, CSI Investigator Barry Allen is struck by lightning and falls into a coma. Months later he awakens with the power of super speed, granting him the ability to move through Central City like an unseen guardian angel. Though initially excited by his newfound powers, Barry is shocked to discover he is not the only “meta-human” who was created in the wake of the accelerator explosion — and not everyone is using their new powers for good. Barry partners with S.T.A.R. Labs and dedicates his life to protect the innocent. For now, only a few close friends and associates know that Barry is literally the fastest man alive, but it won’t be long before the world learns what Barry Allen has become …The Flash.
