Welcome back to Collider's recap show for The Flash! Join Josh Macuga, David Griffin, Kaori Takee and John Rocha as they review Season 2, Episode 12, entitled "Fast Lane."

When a show runs for nearly 23 episodes per season, there are bound to be a few duds. "Fast Lane" was one of those few moments that our panelists agree showcased a few of the series’ weaknesses. One of those being the tendency to skip over important plot details, like the death of Iris and Wally’s mom. We saw her in the hospital a few weeks back and now she’s gone. This episode attempted to give us closure on that story, but sadly fell short on the emotional side of things.

Tonight’s outing wasn’t all bad, as the recap team agreed that Harrison Wells’ growing relationship with Barry continues to grab our interest. Even though Barry’s biological father is alive and well, the young speedster continues to gravitate towards a new father figure, even though Joe is still around. It’s a captivating premise, especially when Wells informs Barry that he will betray him in order to save his daughter. By the episode’s conclusion, it appears that Wells and Team Flash are going to work together, so everybody gets what they want.

The next two episodes should be thrilling when Barry and Wells travel to Earth-2 looking for a way to defeat Zoom. Find out what else The Flash recap team thought about tonight’s underwhelming episode.

Series Synopsis:

Barry Allen wakes up 9 months after he was struck by lightning and discovers that the bolt gave him the power super speed. With his new team and powers, Barry becomes "The Flash" and fights crime in Central City.
